So just for the point of curiosity, it looks like a base termie lord, with a farseer sword, the helmet for the DV lord, a book from the exalted sorcerer, and a greenstuffed fireball?

Sword looks like it possibly comes from the whfb marauders. He's looking good mate, I think his head needs a little tweak to sit in the armour a little better but he's going to look awesome once painted. Will it be green or orange flames?

Yeah pretty much got it down there dude, but the sword is from Warhammer Fantasy Battle chaos kit I think it could possibly be a dark Dark Elf one? I can't remember sorry - one of my knew Khorne Termies has the same one with the runes removed, it looks quite daemon-y. The book is out of the Chaos Terminator Lord kit with a random chain glued to it to make it appear floating and the fire ball is half GS half from the WFB wizard kit. The reason I used it as the left arm is a spare Termie arm sans hand and I thought I could save it in true, international bitz rescue style. The legs are just basic Terminator ones too, not as flash or well posed as the Lord kit :tu:

Yep, must be the Marauders kit - if Bio with his Chaos bitz knowledge says it, it is true! You are right about the head, but I don't think I can get it out as it is well, well glued (he was posed differently originally). I never learn :D It was actually intended for a power armour Dark Apostle and was fitted to a Space Marine head which I then chopped down to fit inside the Terminator armour so I think it is going to have to stay as is.

 

As for the flames (and sword) they are going to be bright white/blue psychic effect. Maybe.

 

The trophy pole is a B@C Mk4 head and an Assault Marine Mk7 drilled straight through and pinned :tu:

Wow - over a year? Has it really been that long? It seems photobucket is playing ball again also? In that case, hello update :D

 

After a lengthy absence from Das Hobby I returned (like all Black Legionaries ;) ) to do my bit for the ETL, and here are my Forge World Black Legion Khorne Terminators -

Unfortunately my Tausept Orche (the old oop paint) has dried up so they have no Legion symbols as yet and as such the transfer icon is a place holder awaiting some sort of free hand. They do need a touch up here and there, static grass and the barrels drilling but I am calling them done. Oh and weathering powders :D

 

Also, I did finish my Terminator Sorcerer a while back, but as my thread was dead at the time, I never updated. Here is the evil son of a cyclops -

Oh man, so good to see this thread updated again! And right in time for it to make a difference in the ETL, no less!

 

The Terminators are looking great! The only thing I don't like is that hokey Black Legion decal (it seems GW's decals for the Traitor Legions just keep getting worse and worse). The squad itself is fantastic, though!

 

Also really like the glow effects on the Terminator Sorcerer!

 

Here's hoping there'll be many more updates soon! :)

Thanks Kraut, glad you approve :tu: my hobby muse had disappeared but back with a vengeance so hopefully with updates! Plan is to upgrade my army to the 8th before new stuff though ;) I completely agree with the transfer, looks :cuss but couldn’t call it done for the ETL all nekid could I?! Plan is the Legion symbol, possibly with the word Harbingers underneath as my Warband goes by the name of the Black Harbingers.

 

I have a game planned next week when I get back off my holidays, hopefully get some photos then too :tu:

I get what you're saying about not wanting the banner to look unfinished ;) Tell you what, though: There's a somewhat more stylised Eye of Horus in red that appears on one of the older transfer sheets that I think would be a better choice -- just my two cents, mind you. Should you need one of those decal sheets, just let me know!

Good to see updates here, this is my favorite BL army by far.

Cheers Quixus :tu: the sword is from the old Warhammer Marauders kit (the combi-bolter Termi also has the same one just shaved and painted in a different style) and was painted black, then blended/highlighted with the old GW colour Ice Blue on the edges and on the runes. I then painted the edges white making sure the blue was still evident. I *think* I went over it all with an Ice Blue glaze (Lamian medium mixed with the blue) to bring it all together.

 

The head is indeed from the Dark Vengeance Champion, it is the face plate transplanted to a normal space marine helmet as I was going to use it for a Dark Apostle in Power Armour, but it then trimmed it down to fit the TDA. I also added copper wire either side of the mouth :tu:

 

Thanks ElDude, glad you approve :) I have a soft spot for Terminators and now have quite a Speartip going on with my other Squad, the Sorcerer and the Warmaster himself. Next up I am going to finish my Rapier crew and the conversion to Laser Destroyers (Hades option has gone :( ), then I have a Sicaran paint and a Deredeo to convert as well as a Dread Claw B)

Thank for the very kind words mates, glad you like them! I really enjoyed painting them all. The Termi kits get a bad press by today’s standards, but you cannot beat the silhouette of the spiky chaos versions, they are some of my faves in the 40k universe, just so brutal. Hopefully when they re-do the kit, they won’t move to far away from the look :tu:

You aren't kidding. The TDA kit is far from terrible but there are some things like the silly daemon face trim and a few other odds and ends that make me want new sprues. Especially when I see the plastic Scarab Occult, Blightlords, and Deathshroud.

 

Yet I see people working magic with our current TDA kit, especially your recent batch. Yours definitely ooze brutality.

Yeah the detail might lack sharpness and some of it isn't very inspired, and the weapons are bulky as hell, but with a proper paint job they still look amazing imo. I just love terminators:)

Cheers guys :tu: Guess what?The shock, the horror!! A further update, this time in the form of Rapier Laser Destroyers and actual crews! I have magnetised the barrels on my Hades autocannons due to FW getting rid of the option, and made a Laser Destroyer out of Lascannons I had laying about. This was because mine were quad heavy bolters originally -

I went for three barrels as four looked very awkward. The crew have been kit bashed with various bits I had lying round, the auspexes used as a remote control as I like this idea rather than a ‘driver’ ;)
