Really like the banner, the runes are a cool idea. I'm not convinced that adding words would work, though I think maybe a little something in the top corners would complete it.

The chain axes are a nice addition to the Chosen, for just a single point, they really are a steal.

To be fair, with the creases at the top of the banner I don’t think I could pull the word off!! I think I may add a couple of runes up there so as to tie it all in.

I did nearly go for nothing but the Eye of Horus, but it looked a bit plain.

RE the Chainaxes - they are a steal for 1pt however they aren’t as much as a steal from FW; right :cuss: expensive :D I just happen to have a few left over from my (failed) 30k Worldeaters project.....

Cheers :tu:

EDIT - I did make a start on something else this morning too -

I agree. 1 point per chainaxe is nice. Plus, the 10-for-20 pack from FW is also really nice. Little annoying as you have to do more work to get your models wielding the axes, but hey. I'll take what I can get :laugh.: That being said, I like the FW Chainaxe set as you can have it sheathed at the marine's waist if they're holding something else (like an Icon) in one hand.

Also, brilliant use of Zhufor's Power Fist on the Icon Bearer. I might do that myself once I start working on my World Eaters terminators.

Yes those FW Chainaxes are great, but they do need pinning in place if you don’t have it sheathed as Gederas says. It’s something I have had some practice at with my Worldeaters -

With Zhufors fist, it was originally for my Lord so he could count as Zhufor back in the days it was allowed and is actually magnetised at the elbow (I normal have it twisted slightly so he is posed better with it). It’s perfect for a banner bearer to roll wysiwyg ;)

Mucho thanks Gederas, Bjorn and Pearson your comments are appreciated as ever :tu:

That banners incredible mate! The freehand is awesome and I’m gonna have to steal the idea of using Zhufors fist for my own Legion banner bearer. Great way to have the model wysiwyg :tu:

Thanks very much for your high praise guys, glad you like :tu:

Got some progress done on my Daemon Prince -

The skin is my normal recipe for daemonic flesh, on small areas it doesn’t look as purple but on the larger scale it does look quite Slaaneshi. This is not a problem, as 1) I quite like it and 2) this guy will usually be rolling Slaanesh with the elixir and death hex pyschic power. Still a way to go (please ignore the skulls etc) but certainly getting there. I am really enjoying painting him.

Also, I know this has been posted but this is sheer class by GW -

Oooosh!

I know it is posted everywhere but I am sooooooo stoked! Wallet is going to look as battered as that Primaris chump once all this new stuff hits, cannot wait to get my tainted fists on them. Hold on to your safety pants :D :D

Love the wings and the trophy racks on the top, I wouldnt have thought the Varghiest (?) wings would have been the right scale but they do look awesome. I'll have to get me some of those :D.

Enter -

Rhazian Hellmaw, the Blackest Prince, Devourer of Souls, “Krugal’va’Mor’t” - the Slayer of the Worthy

Finished my ebayed Daemon Prince in preparation for exciting Black Legion times ahead. Really glad how he turned out and I have enjoyed painting him/it. He is loaded out as a character slayer - hence all his titles - and will usually be marked Slaaneshi but i have deliberately kept any icons off him so as to not hamstring myself in future. I know I harp on about it, but it is my fave miniature ever produced by GW, so I always want to do it justice. I do prefer it without wings, but prefer wings in game. The clawed right hand also is not only for gaming purposes, but as a finecast mini this particular dudes is more like a whip so it made it an easy decision :D His eyes have actually got some greenstuff eyeballs in there as mine were kind of empty sockets and there are a few trophies dotted around due to his character slaying nature. Anyways, enough waffle, here you go -

Hope you filthy Heretics like :tu:

@ Pearson - cheers mate, not long to wait now!

@ Sagentus - thanks , glad you like. I might have mentioned it one or two hundred times, but I love this sculpt :D :D

@ Nemac - cheers man, you are correct with the wings. Yes they are a lot smaller than the Dragon ones but they do look good imho. They are more detailed than the Dragon ones, and obviously they are far more practical for what is really a piece built for gaming.

Now, who wants some shiny new stuff?

I love what you have done with both of your demon princes! the blood effects you have achieved are superb and the way you have blended the wings together looks stunning keep up the great work. I can't wait to see what you have in store for us next

Cheers!

Kidman

Skidman, Bjorn & Shadowblade - many thanks guys, glad you like :tu:

@ Skidman - the blood effects are painted using Tamiya Clear Red, though with a little black or brown wash mixed in. There is also some PVA glue for the extra drippy right claw and the stringy bits were actual chopped down plastic tags from clothes!

@Eldrick Shadowblade - I agree with you on the Bloodthirster, it’s class. Believe it or not I do have a built but unpainted one sat in a box from when I used the old Daemonkin Codex (damn that was such a fun Codex!)

Cheers guys!

Solid work there mate, it's impressive how different the two Princes look, the wings and trophy pile really switch up the silhouette. The dripping gore on the talons is nicely done too.

Thanks Pearson, glad you like him/it :tu: :tu: It is surprising that they look different enough, I do also have one more, and he will def be using the standard vent things instead of wings. It’s a shame however that he is missing a head :( Anyway, that is a project for the future!

The fires are still stoked atm so in continued work through my backlog* here is a CSM grunt I converted a few pages back that I painted last night -

The idea in the original build was to fit within the new CSM aesthetic, which I think he does. If I didn’t paint him now however then I prob never would with all the incoming shiny stuff!! I have not painted the Eye of Horus in the pauldron as I am planning on giving the new smart looking transfers a go, and he need some static grass.

C&C most welcome as ever :tu:

*I will never get through my backlog of plastic soldiers. Know this!

Nice work with the metals on the new legionnaire, especially the grime on the chainmail. The burning eyes are striking too.

I imagine you're very excited for the imminent chaos releases, will you be picking up Abaddon?

Thanks Bjorn and Pearson :tu: :tu: Next up will be my other BSF marine I think if I have any black undercoat left.

Yes, to say I am excited is an understatement. I did say to myself I would carry on using my Abaddon conversion which I love dearly and is usually present in my games, however this new incarnation has left me speechless. GW have really knocked it out of the park! Usually I would convert something, but for me the only thing I am planning on adding/changing is some more teeth around his gorget (in a similar vein to my Chaos Lord Bane) to allow me to paint his face underlit with red light similar to my own conversion. The head I am leaning toward using is the angry one, and I am probably going to use the cloak as I think it makes for a more imposing silhouette. I also like the trophy rack, it’s different but in a good way.

Other things I am planning on picking up in the short term are the Havocs (that mini gun, schlumf) and the Chaos Marines as I have waited forever to fill out my troops.

I am one happy Heretic
