Some of you might have seen my old Scythes of the Emperor blog in the WIP forum, while I've not abandoned the Scythes yet, I have been distracted by the Adeptus Mechanicus since I bought some of the excellent Thallax models last year. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v240/colonel_logan/SAM_1251_zpsde8e646f.jpg As I haven't played a game of 40K since c.2006 I mainly collect now for the painting and modelling aspects, and have finally allowed myself to incorporate non-GW models, including this chap http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v240/colonel_logan/SAM_1247_zps85b73ebd.jpg I think this range would make excellent Ogryns, terminators or servitors if I was actually looking to play a game! Building these models has made me appreciate what I really like about the AdMech, and the Imperium forces in general. Each of these creations ultimately is a human being, but in seeking to defend humanity they have become something more (or a great deal less), there is a sadness about them which is suitably grimdark for me. I have another couple of models on the go, and am lusting after one of the new Knights which hopefully I can acquire in the next few weeks. Good quality figures, perhaps a little more brittle than FW but I had to have one of these figures at least. There is a variety of weapon options too.
