@TheHydra...you right mate...a squad of dreads...now if I could only take an all dread army...

@knight of the raven...many thanks..lol all it took to make a deredeo look nice was to paint it beaten up and rusty haha...thank you once again for popping by :-)

@Raass...how goes it mate...hope your prepping something sweet for the ETL?? Haha I think you have just christened my dreads...may there names live on in infamy haha

Bit quiet on the painting side this month as busy trimming/cleaning things ready for next month...but after a few ultramarines I decided to put into practice a few tips and tricks I have learnt over the past year to try and cut down the time it takes me to paint a world eater..

Well I manged to cut out a whole painting session (yay) to complete this dude......

Maybe should have used a darker metal for the armour joints but quite happy :-)

Thanks for looking guys

Dude, I have no idea how you're churning out such quality work but keep it up. Its inspiring.

As for an All dread list, Ive posted a few concepts for fielding 12+ dreads in a list here and there. When i get back to my computer ill try and send links your way!

Edit: I FOUND IT!

I think the blood looks a bit messy although I appreciate you've tried to go for more realistic blood splatter. Can I ask how you did the brown weathering on the legs? I think it might be close to what I am planning.

Time to blow the dust off this thread with the release of the betrayal of calth purchase :-)

Gonna try and update this regularly with progress on churning through that box set..

Unfortunately real life problem led to me having to sell the Iron warriors :-(.. but that has opened up the chance now to go back to my first heresy love of the world eaters..

Just finishing up these veterans which with my cataphractii will form the core force of my boarding missions force...having recently bought a battle systems sci fi terrain set, I can see some fun games coming up while im slowing building and painting more marines....

Pictures will of course be coming soon of my World Eaters and Daemonclaws Word Bearers going toe to toe onboard a battlebarge

Thanks for looking and once again appreciate any and all comments

Two things.

1.) The Twelfth is always ready for another awesome hobby bro. Glad to see you tossing in with (and returning to!) the superior legion :D

2.) the board looks amazing, but Can we get an up close shot of that legionary with Khârn's helm and a chain-halberd? He looks boss.

Lovely board, though it reminds me more of a Star Wars vessel than a Horus Heresy one.

(I probably play too much The Old Republic and not enough Warhammer.)

Blast from the past!

@Kriegriss....many thanks for your kind words...very appreciated ;-) ...as regards the zone mortalis board...just google "battle systems sci fi terrain"...also check em out on you tube...great set up, bit pricey as you would really need 2 sets for a decent size game...hope this helps mate?

@Flint...hello M'Lady..hope your well? Thanks for your comments...dunno how long I will be sticking with the XIIth...been busy on something else...and thanks to Knight of the Raven, pics of Capt Sharn are right here. ..thanks again ;-)

@Wolf pack...many thanks bro! Very appreciated :-)

@knight of the raven..nothing wrong with playing old Republic! Great game ;-)...and thanks for bringing the photo to this page! Great stuff...and thanks again for popping by, appreciate your comments :-)

@Longone...I hope there good ohhs and ahhhs??? Lol....thanks for your reply ;-)

Been busy with another tester today trying to decide what to do with this box set...was very swayed by the pics on forgeworld of there sons of horus bundle..

Now asking if this is the right shade of green for them is laughable :-) but what do you guys think,

Decals would have set this model off better, and maybe a neutral grey filter over the green armour, but here's whats so far on the tester

Thanks for looking guys

I love your WE and I just wanted to tell you that this particular marine is my favorite. You've used the perfect combination of bits in my opinion. I look at your thread every day just to look at him.
