We die on our feet! Start of a new century

The gun sight has to be on the side, as no person in power armour can crane their neck over far enough to see on top of the bolter. I dare you to try making a PA model who can convincingly look down a top mounted bolter scope smile.png

On topic, that model is a Beast, and you have done a sterling job painting him up!!

I would agree with that rationale if it would be about bolters in general. But this is a bolt pistol, held in the left hand, with the sight on the left. It makes no sense to me unless it's not a sight but a laser pistol... If it'd be a sight and we follow your rationale, it'd have to be on the other side of the pistol! :D

@Helterskelter...cheers mate...Deredeos are fast becoming my fav minis..really feel like getting another when they release those plasma weapons for em lol...thanks again for replying :-)

@Flint..thanks for replying :-)...for the hazards..I cheat lol...its "micro" masking tape...im using both 1mm and 1.5mm tape...tiny stuff..just paint (airbrush or spray can is better) your lighter colour first, mask the area and paint your darker one next..easy peasy!

@Dantioch...cheers man...get some masking tape lol...best advice aswell, start your first stripe in the middle of the area you are working on...then work out from there...the masking tape is very strong so will stay straight even over curves (oh er)..as an example...the picture below shows a missle pod straight after spraying...for this the inside corner will be your starting point..lay this on first, work your way out from it...if doing identical work on say another pod..just remember to add the same amount of lines as the previous...bit rambly but hope it helps

@Raass...thanks man! And congrats to you with first claw ;-)

Link provided for micro tape :-)

I'm well bro, thanks for asking :) I suppose I will be sticking with the Heresy for this year's ETL. I don't have anything planned though, so I'd better come up with some ideas soon...

The second Deredeo is amazing! Really looking forward to seeing a group shot of the iron twins :tu:

He looks fantastic mate, agree with Dallo the base is fantastic, although for some reason it reminds me of an English beach, which is sort of fantastic beacuse now all I can think of is your Iron Warrios lining up on Studland beach lobbing shells at the French.

Absolutely stunning work in this thread.

I have to ask Brother, on my knees if need be, could you do a tutorial on how you do weathering for just about all of these pieces? I'd love to do a nice mid battle weathering look on my SoH force but I kinda suck at it and don't know how to go about the process of weathering them.

@kizzdougs...glad your well mate...and be good to see you cracking some models out for the heresy team!

@Daemonclaw..cheers bro...got a ton of troops made...just having real problems with the airbrush at the moment :-(

@lionofjudah...big gunz for the win! Now when are the quad mortar rapiers being released lol

@brother dallo..cheers mate! As for the basing.....get a tub of MIG mud... (great stuff as lots in a tub, and easy to get out)...slap it on your base. ( use your brush to sculpt it how you want)...when dry, sprinkle 2-3 different weathering powders on in random patches and get a big soft brush to gently blend the powders together! As easy as that :-).. (I said I was a lazy painter lol) hope this helps mate. MiG mud comes in a few different colours and textures...I use "European wet mud fine" if that helps...oh and of course it can be overpainted any colour you want..

@TheHydra...lol says alot for the quality of our beaches haha..although Bognor Regis beach comes to mind lol...and shelling the French. ...lol

@Ion...cheers mate...I did a tutorial some time back on another thread...started with imperial fists, should be easy to find..if you want to PM me your colour scheme, would be happy to help you out with tips and techniques. .in the meantime. ..check out a fellow b&c member...SHEEP...he has fantastic weathered sons of horus..great for visual ideas..

Here are the group shots of the Iron twins and the Steel triplets

Cheers as always guys
