Iron Hands Fanatic
Your work never fails to impress me, Mortis - these termies are no different, they prefectly capture the whole aesthetic of the IVth Legion Plus the choice of Tartaros armour instead of Cataphractii (which I'd imagine is the typical choice for Iron Warrior players) is pretty cool
Atia
Plus the choice of Tartaros armour instead of Cataphractii (which I'd imagine is the typical choice for Iron Warrior players) is pretty cool yep! they are awesome! i want to see more :P

chaplain mortis
@iron hands fanatic. ..thank you so much for your kind words..very appreciated, I always had in mind that the iv legion would be a "battered" non shiny looking army...and I wanted to try tartaros pattern as I have never painted them before...but I do have 10 cataphractii ready for spraying lol @Atia...thank you for taking the time to reply...very appreciated. .and have a couple more termies done now for your perusal...many thanks again.. @Chaeron...very grateful for your reply..happy you like my work :-)...plenty more iv legion to come..thanks again. @Raass...always a pleasure to have a reply from you...gonna see if I can finally get round to putting your namesake In this army haha..thanks again for taking the time to comment. So another 2 done...5 more to go..then on to another unit. Gonna put this one to a vote.. Next unit to be painted should be... Tactical squad? Cataphractii squad? 3 contemptors and 2 deredeo? Let me know, and anybody know if the ETL is happening earlier this year? Thanks for looking http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y2/chaplainmortis/Mobile%20Uploads/20150131_153649_resized.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y2/chaplainmortis/Mobile%20Uploads/20150131_152523_resized.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y2/chaplainmortis/Mobile%20Uploads/20150131_152602_resized.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y2/chaplainmortis/Mobile%20Uploads/20150131_152620_resized.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y2/chaplainmortis/Mobile%20Uploads/20150131_152347_resized.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y2/chaplainmortis/Mobile%20Uploads/20150131_152425_resized.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y2/chaplainmortis/Mobile%20Uploads/20150131_152407_resized.jpg

Flint13
Spectacular! I love how you seamlessly transfer from the muddy weathering at the bottom to the scratchy, battleworn look at the top. What's next on the list?
Brother Dallo
I'm liking your Iron Warrior terminators. As has been said, choosing Tartarus over Cataphractii is an interesting choice, and I think choosing the less stereotypical armour mark really works. Thanks for stopping by in my plog. Keep up the good work. Dallo

Thanks again @Der H...thanks for the reply buddy...and yep, various weathering powders were used, but also oils and enamels for the grimy/rusty parts...thanks for stopping by And just as a weird update..thought it would be interesting to show a side by side of some w.i.p From left to right.. Termie just primed..zenithal high lit and glazed Termie as before but with basic colours and a wash laid down Termie as before but with chipping, oils and enamels applied...just awaiting basing, matt varnishing and powders.. Daemon2027
The Hydra...hope your well mate? Thanks for your comments, hope the oils are working out for you? Just remember to varnish your acrylic work first and your good to go! If you ever need any help with em then just give me a shout! Yeah I'm good mate, you? Work with the oils has been intresting so far, like definitely eye opening. And I have varnished, in fact experimenting with different varnishes for differnt effects. Love the TDA's, only thing I could say is maybe a bit of colours in the eyes just to add so rhying to the metals and dirt.
Augustus b'Raass
Looking good mate! May I ask why on the left guy, you choose to put the left shoulder on the right side and vice versa? It's an interesting effect.

As for the eye lenses...im gonna hold my hands up and just say it sheer laziness on my part lol...but I have been experimenting with tamiya clears for lens effects. .thanks again for replying. @Raass...hope all is well with you mate? Thanks again for your continued interest. ..regarding the shoulders, I just thought they looked better that way round lol..abit more like the mkiv shoulder pad of similar design.. Quick update, Second layer of weathering is down...bit of a rusty pup at the mo...varnish and addition of arms will tone the look down though.
