Adorondak Posted March 18, 2014 Share Posted March 18, 2014 I don't own the codex yet, so I'm hoping somebody would be willing to clear up the timeline for the Knights for me. What I've gotten from the various sources is that humans went out pre-emperor, colonized worlds and built/protected them with the knights. Then everything goes to :cuss, warp storms, everybody is cut off from everybody else. Then the Great Crusade starts and the Emperor and primarchs eventually discover the knight worlds. Knight worlds came first, then the darkness, followed by Mars rebuilding itself and reconnecting with its sister Forge Worlds, reconnecting with nearby Knight worlds, and only then reconnecting with a newly risen Earth based Empire of Humanity lead by The Empirer. After all that we get the Grand Crusade, the Horus Heresy, and the current Long War. One could say that Knight worlds represent the oldest non-Imperium, non-AdMech Human culture in the current 40k setting.
