Looks amazing naturally. Forge world best world.

 

I don't get why Fists are metal. And why Alpha legion have no iconography anywhere on the painted models.

 

Thats just one Imperial Fist unit - likely some kind of specialist formation, hence the differing colour scheme - which, along with the insignia seems to reference the Executioners

 

With the Alpha Legion Minis, lots of the rank and file models painted for FW's displays are without insignia, from whatever Legion they're supposed to be - I think the priority was to produce large numbers of models quickly for the displays

That Alpha Legion portrait plastered a s@$t-eating grin across my face for a solid 2 minutes while I was out walking in public.

'Beautiful', is all I want to say.

Legion confirmed, Hydra :cuss dominatus in- :cuss -deed o7.

As for the Imperial Fist colours, or lack of, I have a good mind they plastered a unique scheme in a format where standard legion colours are expected, much like one of the legionnaires in the book 2 preview. Or Bligh had second thoughts about Highlighter-levels of Imperial Fist loyalty.

I also totally recognise Dorn always looked along those lines in our collective thoughts, but damn the years haven't been good for him, all that stick-up-ass frowning I suppose.

Not to sound weird or like I'm falling to Khorne or anything, but am I the only one who thinks there should be more bodies in the first picture? Like piles and piles of them? They look a bit scattered as they are, considering 3 Legions were all but destroyed, and the majority were killed in an ambush.

 

Alpharius's tattoo could look better as well imo.

I find it interesting that IV Legion's purge occurred on Isstvan V. Pretty cool, in my opinion. You can see the relation between Alpharius / Omegon and the other Primarchs (mainly Horus), which is great attention to detail and continuity. And I simply CANNOT wait for Mortarion.

Can't remember the primarch's face described as having a tatoo though...

 

That's because they guy that was described wasn't actually Alpharius or Omegon.  Even Dan Abnett was fooled.

Anyone know about how long it was before book 2 was up for preorder after the reveal video?

 

A bit odd they chose to show an alternate scheme for the VII, considering the other three Legions have normal ones. Dorn looks exactly as he should. I can't wait to have him in my hands. :D

I agree, but the sea of knee-deep bodies would be more apt at the landing zones; the picture portrays the outskirts where units just stopped and turned to see their entire legions being scythed down on the hill below. Keep in mind there were whole companies of surviving units that were then exterminated in pitched battles (or as pitched as it gets when it comes to raven guard).
