Book 3: Extermination Preview- Stills [Clean Armour Pics up]

Pretty much no chance of a Dorn model unless it has been done with a level of secrecy that would put the CIA to shame. Mortarion is confirmed as the next on release as well.

In this video Simon hints at Dorn being his next project.

I would guess that Edgar is working on Mortarion, while Simon works on Dorn.

Sorry I should have added that someone posted a quote from Edgar saying that Mortarion was going to be the next one he works on.

Think it's great that the workload is being shared out a little more now. Tbh Mortarion is needed to keep the DG players happy since it's almost 18 months since Betrayal first came out. I'd say Dorn, Vulkhan and Perturabo should be next off the block. Loyalists certainly need some..

Well, all I can say is that I think I'll have at least one IF unit wearing heavy metal. That's just so simplistic and practical, but awesome looking.

Communique to Ministry of Finance: "RELEASE THE BUDGETING PROCESS!"

So looks like Simon's next project will be Vulkan/Dorn, I'm leaning towards Vulkan considering FW seem to be backtracking to older books atm and the Battle of Paramar features loyalist and traitor elements of a Knight Household.

Looks amazing.

Not to sound weird or like I'm falling to Khorne or anything, but am I the only one who thinks there should be more bodies in the first picture? Like piles and piles of them? They look a bit scattered as they are, considering 3 Legions were all but destroyed, and the majority were killed in an ambush.

Alpharius's tattoo could look better as well imo.

I agree, but the sea of knee-deep bodies would be more apt at the landing zones; the picture portrays the outskirts where units just stopped and turned to see their entire legions being scythed down on the hill below. Keep in mind there were whole companies of surviving units that were then exterminated in pitched battles (or as pitched as it gets when it comes to raven guard).

Fair point, although the picture does show some drop pods so there must have been some landing there. I haven't seen any maps of the DSM (are there any?!) so I'm really just going off of the image in my head from the books tongue.png

...Dorn looks :cussing hardass (as does Alpharius/Omegon).

I'm so very much looking forward to this book-to see what the Alpha Legion gets (and if I can make a close approximation with the Chaos Codex like I can with World Eaters)

I have to wonder if there will be more goodies for the Legions in the past two books, or if that's been stopped now.

Well, they still haven't released: Gorgon Terminators, Pyroclasts, Gal Vorbak, or Firedrakes, so I'm gonna say yes, considering all the Legion specific units from the 1st Book eventually came to be

IHF, I noticed the pictures yes... I notice that they are running men and vehicles down a trench line... who was the tactical genius to suggest such deployment?

Back on topic, I see there are a few Sicaran tanks included in the pictures, as well as plenty of Fellblades.  Also spotted the Corvus armour, which could render my larger army 30k acceptable :D

Great find and post!

I mean new units and rules, not just models. I'm wondering if the first Eight Legions will be getting more Legion-specific stuff.

Back to the idea of Loyalist Iron Warriors... I'm wondering if they're going to retcon it so that the scouring of Olympia was justified - or even sanctioned - by the Imperium. Because I can't see how anyone could still believe the IVth was Loyal after that particular incident and I'd expect the purging of Loyalists would have been done at that time.

Edit: Also, the inclusion of Knight Houses (both Traitor and Loyalist) is exciting. I have to wonder if this means FW will be supplying Knight upgrades... or at the very least 30K-era Knight House decals.

Is it possible that the "Alternate" Fist's scheme is in fact Unification era? Like the War Hounds etc. from before being united with Dorn?

Reason that I suspect this is that he mainly carries the Emperor's lightning bolt and eagle head on his shoulder pad.

They should be able to include a couple more because they're saving space by not needing to put 8 RoW in. But how will they do it? Say they give the first 4 Legions a unit and special character again, will they give 2 SC to the second 4? just for the sake of equality. Plus there's going to be generic units included like the Sicaran Venator, Fire Raptor etc

Well the Legions from Book One and Two are on equal footing now, for the most part. So they'd each receive the same amount of new stuff (supposedly, look at Emperor's Children >:-(  ), and the Legions in Book Three would get a boat load of stuff.

FW said on their FB page a while back there would be no new stuff in `Extermination` for the legions in Betrayal, they never said anything about those from Massacre though... So if I was to hazard a guess I'd say we'll at least see a few new things for those legions in `Extermination.` Wasn't Argel Tal mentioned at last years HH Weekender?

Yeah it probably is their Unification scheme, like the Dusk Raiders, Warhounds and the Salamander with the rams head icon.
