These guys are my pride and joy.

Decided I would just front load all the pics so you don't need to scroll and search. smile.png

Really nice, crisp painting there - they are looking sharp. My only (minor) crit is that the bases on a few of them are letting the side down! Maybe a wash to break up the grey? Just a thought. Otherwise; wow.

I finally finished the other 5 guys in this squad; it's time that I start to take photos and post my whole force to date, so here's a complete Squad Augax to get it rolling.  No WIP here, only finished Raptors.

Ace. Brilliant. Flawless.

And some other good words, too.

Shadow sergeant Rull's just reported that Thorns brought reinforcements to the party.

Sterling work as ever Raptor brother!

I love the Beakie with the bolt pistol and open hand. Cracking pose.

What's next?

Thanks guys!  @Yak

I don't know what I'll post next.  Most of my Raptors have been shown on here in one thread or another.  I'm mostly interested in taking some better photos and posting them all in one place now.  Also want to do a big group shot, but we'll see how that goes I've tried before but never was satisfied with the quality.

I love the face paint camo on the scouts. You reproduced that iconic look from the art very well. All of these guys are great. I love the toned down and muted metal finishes. Using brighter green as a spot color is both unconventional and highly effective. Same with the purity seal wax.

You're almost daring conventional wisdom from the online-color-palette-picker crowd (of which I am a part).

It's like you're saying "yeah, I know about contrast and pop and complementary colors. These are stealth soldiers. Colors that pop are likely to get your head popped by a bolter shell while they're at it."

@Aquilanus

I was never a big fan of scout squads until I actually bought one.  They are nice looking models; you just need to look past the GW stock examples.

@Kiloflx

I do a black-Knarlock Green-Catachan green basing sequence.

I then do a double wash: Agrax and then Athonian Camoshade.

Highlights are Deathworld Green followed by (very rarely) Camo green.

WOW, just wow, those are some of the best marines I have every seen.  Everything is so prefect, except for the bases, I personally would add some jungle plants to really make the perfect image.  I would gladly have my traitors be slaughter by these marine.
