Well I was done but my sd card crashed and I lost all and I mean All my pics so I don't have my before pic. Here is the stormtrooper sgt that I did and a new scoin that im gonna do for a replacement. gallery_65696_7693_700663.jpg

That's a nice retro ST.

Even next to the new TS, something about the old ST is still appealing. Need to find some on ebay.

Wow Citadel miniatures have gotten a lot bigger. They scion looks huge next to the old school storm trooper. Next to my Kriegers (who are even smaller) I can definitely pass Scions off as power armoured (counts as SoB).

Ok cypher, we'll take him as a plasma Veteran entry :)

That is quite a difference in scale, I'll have to consider that as I have the old school Stormies. They have backpacks too which helps, give them the helmets and they will look well armoured.

The deadline for posting up your WIP image is soon approaching for those that have not yet done so. In order to continue to qualify for glory you must post a picture in this topic before 14th April 14:00 GMT (18:00 ETZ, 19:00 CTZ, 20:00 MTZ, 21:00 PTZ).

It doesn't have to be fully assembled or undercoated - just a picture of the model you will paint by the deadline on Monday. After that there's only the finishing line left on the 27th April!

Get your backsides in gear soldiers, we don't want a single trooper left behind!!

Apologies for the delay but here is Guardsman Han Einzig, Private of the 501st Swaibian Shock Troopers. I updated my earlier post with the picture in too. Again, you'll have to accept my profuse apologies for the quality of said picture as I only have my pathetic camera phone. Fluff is in progress and I aim to paint this venerable model over the weekend smile.png

In other news I'm liking that Scion cypher! I wasn't a massive fan of their armour but seeing it painted... well, in a Guard like fashion, makes it a lot better in my eyes. Nice!

Edit: Fixed the broken image link

Fantastic, an old school Cadian! Beat the deadline with plenty of time to spare too, that's what we like to see biggrin.png Image quality isn't a big deal especially for the WIP shot but if your camera phone is anything like mine I generally scale it to 20% then crop it. Large enough to mostly see what's going on without making anyone claw their eyes out and a smaller file size so it doesn't beat anyone's bandwidth smile.png

Only 15 troopers MIA, so we're doing well but that's still 15 too many! Here in the Guard we give nothing less than 100% right? I just rolled my Leadership test for orders and passed (Ld10, Stubborn) - so you lollygaggers must now Move! Move! Move! Roll 3D6 and post your WIP tongue.png

edit: amusing typo getting censored removed

Trooper Nathaniel 'Kneebone' Jones of Knight World: Verdant Secundus PDF, 3rd Moon Garrison.

Well, it's a start ;-)

Verdant Secundus is part of the Verdant Prime system.

Jones could sense the approach of someone, he kept leaning against the lookout wall, head bowed. Now audible footsteps mixed with quickened breathing indicated a slight urgency. 'Kneebone' the voice uttered. Jones didn't even look up at his monikers caller. The lilt gave the identity away. 'Corporal', Jones answered back.

'Are you daydreaming again?'

'No, just thinking. About... things'

'Really? Like your distantly removed relative who piloted a knight, but your family were outcast due to some ill forgotten dispute and now you are stationed here on the 3rd Moon of Verdant Secundus, where you while away your days fighting off boredom?'

'It's like you're reading my... hey wait, what's up?'

Grinning, Corporal Jenkins couldn't contain himself anymore, 'That's what I came to tell you silly, Sgt Ventriss is doing rolecall, everyone downside. Within days an imperial fleet is passing through our system on their way to meet a xenos incursion. Finally we have something to do!'

'Finally' cried Jones. 'Praise the Emperor'.

Oh dear! I'd plum forgot about this! I'll get right on it. With luck, I'll have a picture of something within a few hours.

Veteran Trooper Marlow Concors

M. Concors comes from a long and proud line of military men, with no less than eight Company Commanders, one PDF Commandant, and one Brevet Regimental Commander in his direct ancestry. Compelled through the force of ancestral obligation towards the Military from a young age, he volunteered for Aechea Hive's prestigious Schola Ducta at age 15 (TSR). He excelled at combat training, as was expected, but proved most skilled in both an advisory and a bodyguard role. Upon graduation, he was assigned to the Aechea Hive Regimental tithe.

Assigned to 3rd Company, C Platoon Command, he spent the next three years successfully preventing the death of Lieutenant (later Major) Nhils Borrs, now the Regimental Commander of the 45th Hadovii 'Trench Pigs'. The following twelve years have seen Concors achieve the highest survival rate out of any bodyguard in the regiment, with Junior officers under his protection surviving 60% longer than the regimental average. His body is a scarred mess of old wounds and minor bionic replacements, but through some Emperor granted miracle, he has never spent more than a week at a time in convalescence as a result of his injuries.

He is fiercely protective of each and every soldier in the platoon, many of whom he has personally saved at some point, and has been known to refuse offered evacuation in favour of rescuing another wounded trooper.

45th Hadovii 'Trench Pigs'

Levied from the populace of Achaea Hive, of Hadovii III, the 45th is an elite Heavy infantry regiment, specialising in hostile environment line breaking. Heavily armed and armoured, it is common for the 45th to be deployed in the midst of a chem attack, where they quickly provide overwhelming close assault force, inevitably leading to the crumbling of the enemy line.

The moniker 'Trench Pigs' comes from one such assault, on the former Agri-World of Edesia. Assaulted by a massive Chaos incursion, the world had been bombed to uninhabitablity through foul chaos munitions, which turned much of the planet's organic matter into a choking cloud of disease and radiation. Edesia was reclassified as a Death-World, but the Inquisitor Tobyr Malinpor countermanded a recommendation of Exterminatus, as the various city of the diseased rock contained something he considered vital to the survival of the Imperium. Segmentum Command directed Army Group 13B to retake Edesia. The assault was ultimately successful, though it took two years of hard fighting to break through the entrenched heretic forces, much of it trench-to-trench fighting.

The peculiarities of the chaos rot cloud interacted with the Hadovii rebreathers, causing them to make sounds like those of hadovii pigs, a sound which proved intimidating in the thick echoing clouds of the chaos rot. The regiment quickly adopted the moniker, and twisted this peculiarity into a psychological weapon, which proved to only hasten the fall of the Chaos forces.

Just wondering as I seem to have misplaced all my guardsmen bits in my latest move can I possibly get an extension on the deadline for the work in progress shot of the model if I get the fluff up instead. Need to reorder some new bits or possibly find the old ones

My  base coated trooper.10168018_512448392192661_211450910577968. I will be done by the 20th, hopefully.

Trooper, Talens Mydol. 109th Lad Gaters,of Haven. Talens, joined the 109th,when the Commisar, made his recruitment trip through the highlands. His parents had moved from the steppes, down the highlands. The high steppes, didn't offer the family the best opportunity. His father taught him,how to ride a muskylope,a native creature of ,Haven. He tried to enlist in the, Rider Regiment, but he wasn't considered. The Gaters, function as, Planetary Defense Force, and occasionally find themselves far away from home. Haven, itself falls under the hegemony of the, Imperial Navy. Cat's Eye, provides fuel resources,as , Haven has only three major industries. First, mining from both, Cat's Eye,and from shock stone a natural quartz-like crystal that holds energy ,when charged. Second forestry, ironwood native to ,Haven. Third agriculture,in the lowlands great fields of wheat, and rye,as well as barley, and oats.

Well done to all those getting their WIP shots in! For those remaining there is still time before the deadline tomorrow afternoon (or whenever 1400 GMT is where you live!).

I'm afraid the deadline is set, but if you like you can PM me with more details and maybe I can help?

***Special Operations Grenadier Harl Tourson, 4th Sappers team, 17th Insertion Cadre of the 144th Artemisian's under the operational control of Colonel Dechor Marlie on the Daxtrist Forgeworld***

The ground shook underneath me, I awoke confused and dazed...'Mom, is it another quake?' I asked. Waiting for a moment for response and hearing none but the crunching sounds of plascrete and polycement grinding against one another. My whole body ached as I slipped back into a fugue state, blinking my eyes and trying to orient myself I awaited my mother's response to my query I felt my body. Aching and more sore than I have ever remembered, what is that noise outside?

The quakes had been coming with greater frequency and intensity recently. The hab block orator says it is the Emperor shaking our world to remind us their is more work to be done, more las cells and mortar shells to be manufactured. I had lost my best friend in the collapse of the Givron Spire last month and I hear talk of weird noises from the underhives and communications being lost from some of the farther outposts. Talks of tectonic instability had plagued Dectrax Ordinatus Prime for decades and Mom says it is the will of the Emperor that keeps us safe. Our world has manufactured munitions for the Emperor for a hundred generations and would continue to if it his will.

BOOM...boom...... the tremors are receding.

'Mom!!' I yelled and coughed into....something. I touched my hands at my face and felt a weight as things moved off of my arms. Scattering dust and a pale haze rose from the ground all around me.

'Where am I?' I asked. Blinking my eyes and clearing them I brought my hands up to rub them and found myself touching..something hard. My breath rate increased as I began to panic. I said my mantra to the Emperor for protection. Asking for his safety and blessing as I had been taught by the Imperial confessor after the razing of my hab by the Astraes 10 years earlier...

'What the FETH is going on?' I shouted as I wiped my hands across the lenses in front of my eyes, the streaking left by my fingers showed a world in rubble and flames around me. My body immediately felt as though I was asleep again as the sights around me stimulated my brain. My arms twitched as my neurons recalibrated and reconnected with their receptors. The shock of rememberance came to me fully.

My world, my mother were gone after the cataclysm wrought by the cults on my homeworld. The quakes were the tidings of a great evil upon Dectrax and the ArchFiend Xalathrax of the Iron Warriors.

I felt my rebreather mask, blinking myself fully back to a conscious and waking state. I am grateful for my training after my time at the Dectrax Ordinatus Imperial Academy. Indoc prepared me to come online with a moments notice as my proctors would impart training upon us for 18 standard hours of each cycle. 4 years of physical and mental conditioning ingrained into my psyche what my favorite proctor referred to as the warriors ethos.

My whole body ached as my hands pushed down into the rubbled ground underneath me. The sharp points under my hands bit into me, the pain refocused my attention and my gaze focused on the flames to my right. I recognized the silhouette of a Vendetta gunship. I turned my head to the left and saw the plascrete shell of a building in flames.... My eyes spotted shapes moving through the shadows of the flickering flames and a cold chill ran through my spine. My heart hammered in my chest as I saw the beasts we must have come here for trodding through the debris. I saw one of the 3 brutish and their presence spurred my desire to reacquaint my hands with my MK14M81 rifle. I looked to my right again and saw the familiar shape of such a weapon next to me amid the rubble.

I clicked my commbead with my tongue and whispered, 'Tourson check... 4th, sound off.' My throat was dry and my tongue felt leaden and like sandpaper against my lips.

Static was my answer on the 4th Sapper's squad channel. None of the 9 other men under my command answered. I opened communications to the other squads of men I remembered being with me this morning and heard the static. I may have knocked my voxlink out of stabilization or damaged my transceiver. Now was not the time to worry about that as the 3 orks I had seen were making their sluggish way closer to my position.

Rolling onto my hands and knees I quelled the desire to empty the contents of my belly into my mask. My hands found the stock of the weapon to my right and it felt good in my hands. A familiar sensation reintegrated my mind and body to where and who I was...how I got here, and how dire the situation was.

MASINT had discovered the source of the Orks munitions on this world. 3 squads of elite grenadier sappers had been assigned the destruction of an Ork Mek Manufactory. We had loaded into separate gunships for the 4 hour flight. We had been spotted 4 mikes from the objective and been under fire the rest of the insertion flight.

It had gone from bad to worse when Bird 3 had taken a Flakk missile to its starboard engine...she lit up like a roman candle and I watched the 14 men on that craft cease to exist in a nanosecond, Emperor protect.

Bird 1, 2 and 4 reached our staging area under increasing fire. Flakk shells burst in the air around us bringing a harsh light to the moonless night.

'30 seconds men. Good luck. The Emperor protects.' said the pilot as he swerved through the rising tide of shells in the air.

Our door gunners were sending a constant stream of heavy bolter rounds downrange and calling target to one another in a steady cadence of, 'Target my 4! Firing!' and 'Throne theres a walker, 10 o'clock.' These were solid men of the Imperial forces who were trained to fire with patience and diligence. The Emperor did not reward those who used his ammunition carelessly.

The light in the crew bay turned green. 'GO, GO, GO! Yelled Sergeant Jirktir from the rear of the cabin. We did not land but fast roped from the rear hatches of the craft as we had done dozens of times before in this rotation. I was number 3 out and 10 meters from the deck when I heard Lt. Nilosh scream, 'GET OUT!!' a second before the cockpit of our Vendetta was vaporized.

The heat was incredible as the promthium in the fuel tanks lit and added to the fire in the sky at my back.

I saw the 2 men before me drop from the line as Bird 1 broke up above me. The ground came rushing at me and darkness overtook me...

*Tasked with the destruction of an Orken Mek Manufatory, the 4th Sapper team was inserted via Vendetta squadron behind the force of a guided ordinance bombardment of the entire 17th Cadres Artis Magnae Artillerie Corps.

2 Vendettas from this flight returned to base after sustaining serious damages while circling the downed gunship. The casualties on these 2 Vendettas along with the total loss of Bird 3 and the downing of Bird 1 meant the 4th Sapper team was understrength to complete the mission as given. Orders were given from Colonel Marlie to terminate the mission and RTB.

This was 19 months into the campaign on the Hellground that is the Daxtrist Forgeworld and 3 months ago. Vox contact suggests Grenadier Sapper Tourson was the lone survivor of the mission.

He is requesting immediate SAR and reports completion of the mission through the destruction of the powergrid feeding the Manufactory.*

The 17th Insertion Cadre of the 144th Artemisian Irregulars is a conglomeration of the Imperial forces fighting the Ork's in the Caldara Cluster. The 144th Artemesian is fighting with 21% of its combat disbursement and is at nil effectiveness as a single regiment. The forces arrayed in the 17th Insertion Cadre's TOE now include members of the 321st Krieg Combat Engineer Assault Brigade, the Cadian 6th Grenadier, 91st Valpraosian Commandos, 89th Danapor Fusielliers, 21st Elysian Drop Troopers, Maladorian 45th Armored Cavalry, 14th Air Wing of the Emperors Covet and covert elements of the Emperors assisanitorium.

More details will follow. The Emperor Protects.
