This is the first tac squad, still need to paint most of the weapons though.

The two rhinos. they stilll need pigments.  The right one being the command one.

Here are the centurions.  still need to add the omniscope plus the power cables at the back are just yellow and if i have time i want to make them with black stripes on them.

Bikes still need mud splatter, chipping  and to be attached to their bases.

Once again reiterating that the recon marine part usage was well executed and that the paint jobs look good.  let me go on record saying that the scout bikes as marine bikes turned out superbly, and that even the centurions look good in that crisp raptor green.

Thanks for the props guys.  The whole silencer thing spiraled out of control after the test model.  then i had to do it on all normal guys!! plus the power packs all come from GK interceptors with bit of chopping and swapping.  wanted them to look like they were full on recon, out in the bush for months types.

@ Darth potato - The inquisitor gold is from the Vallejo Liquid gold range.  Its the rich gold one. this is then washed with dark brown oil paint and the the same gold is reapplied leaving the dark areas where you require them.  This stuff is mega shiny and i only use it where the armour has to be clean or give off the emperors light!

I think this is one of the best armies I've ever seen.

I'm going to be honest, I'm not a fan of grey knights so when I first saw them I wasn't that interested, but I kept scrolling. Then I saw the inquisitor which just blew me away man. That is a fantastic use of the Praetor figure and it looks incredible.

Then I hit the Raptors.

They are beautifully done mate and I can say you've truly inspired me. I've been toying with making a small Raven Guard successor force for a while now, and I think I've finally decided to go ahead with it.

Superb!

Armond you are right but its not enough to warrant me heating it up and risking a kink. When i glue it to a base i will dig it in so its straight.

Lol nighthunters. We had a chat about this and we came to the conclusion that they would have them silenced for reasons that if they were waiting in ambush they would be able to unleash a fusillade from cover/hiding. Or if th ebike was damaged the marine could salvage the bolters and wage war his way still.

i also think 'suppressed' is probably a better description for a bolter! laugh.png

Quick question, are the Recon marines the sternguard?

I might have to shamelessly steal that one msn-wink.gif

I have seen the list and it is a Stern Squad.

@Paintmybits you know I think it's a beautiful army.

Fantastic stuff! The Raptors are especially cool, the Heraldry on the Rhinos are my favourite part of the army smile.png

That army is seriously awesome! I was still undecided whether to play Revilers or Raptors, but seeing your small force just tipped the balance. Great work!

Looks like you are using an airbrush to undercoat/paint the marines armour. What colours do you use for the armour if you don't mind me asking?

The armour is all Vallejo model air.  The base is Black green.  The mid tone is camo green then the top down zenithal highlight is light camo green.

I then give it a gloss varnish and pin wash with black oil paint.   Then back over with a satin varnish.   Because of the thinness of airbrush coats i can then edge in the light camo green again and it appear a touch lighter just because its going on with a brush. Hope this is useful.
