Even though I like that alternate IF black and yellow scheme...I can't help but think the assault marines just look like angry bumblebees :D

I was expecting Sheed Ranko or Ingo Pech as special characters for the AL. Berossus as a special character for the IW (both normal and dreadnought version) or Forrix since Golg died in Phall and isn't gonna endure very much long, and the Nev brothers for the Raven Guard. Actually the only one of the four legions that makes sense to me with the characters in it is the Imperial Fists. 

 

I wonder, will they release the rules and miniatures of guys like Garro and Dantioch? And if its so, in which book? Dantioch would do a great model, and Garro well, is Garro, he's important. But is difficult to release all the important characters out there so...

I think it makes sense to have some other named characters in these books as well. It opens up interesting options for fluff and gameplay. I loved that Sevatar is in book 2. , but Iiked the NL apothecary as well. I also like that there People and places involved other than the Great Old Ones we know already. There are enough people running around making this galaxy smaller. HH is about LEGIONS. Not the same five people being in every more or less Important skirmish all over again.

Most Legion characters are the Legion's First Captain (or equivalent) and one FW made themselves. Sons of Horus, Word Bearers, Emperor's Children and Imperial Fists seem to be the exception. All others have had characters made exclusively for the FW books.

Oh man oh man. I sent Forgeworld an email about a month back asking about Pre-Heresy Alpha Legion Iconography & squad/rank markings; nice how they put that page in the book preview.

What was their response?  I'm mostly curious how DA squad and rank markings would look in this era, but I'll take what info I can get (I suspect they haven't finalized DA iconography yet).  Are the Heavy/Tactical/Assault/Support/etc icons on their website supposed to line up with squad markings (in general - I realize that many legions change how or if they display such things)?

Quick question regarding these differing foc, can you pick any to organis your force, or do both players/teams have to be using the same one?

 

Page 164 of Massacre.  Both players must agree to use variants of HH's standard Age of Darkness Force Org chart.

Yep, I'm buying that LE set.  It's two things I want (condensed army book and HH3) and two things that'd be kind of spiffy (art book and slip cover for the first three HH books).  And here's the kicker: IT'S BEING RELEASED ALONGSIDE THE REGULAR HH3 BOOK!!!!  Like maybe if GW is wondering why their SM and CSM LE collections aren't selling, it's because everyone out there already freaking had the army codex, and in some instances had already ponied up for the LE book.  Notice that FW's bundle is including HH3, but not HH1 or 2.  That's because anyone who wants those books already owns them, which would make a bundle that includes them that much less attractive.

Actually, I'd take the bundle that has all three. Maybe because I don't already own them. Sort of like how the bundle with IA 9+10 and IA2 are very appealing. Again to those who don't own all the above. biggrin.png

That's the even moar better thing about this bundle: FW can easily offer a bundle that does include all three because the HH3 book isn't some funky limited edition type.  They can offer a package that includes the LE bundle and the first two books, lop ten pounds off the price and they're good to go.

 

Now, when is this bad boy going on sale to the general public, I need to camp the FW website on this one.
