Presumably, since only the artbook is said to be exclusive to the set.

 

That being said, I wonder if later books will start incorporating more changed versions of the legion lists for traitor legions, as they become more entrenched with chaos. If so, the isstvan books will contain the most vanilla versions of the army lists, at least as far traitors go.

I wouldn't throw a general 'Legion Traitor MK x Armour' set into the Impossible Bin.

 

Not sure the Chaosification of the current Legions will be done for the next trilogy, though. Remember, there are five more Legions being introduced, and only one repeated, the Word Bearers - those will likely see the Gal Vorbak in mini form, but that one already exists. Prospero should have no chaotic Marines, neither will the Signus/Dark Angels one, as the enemies in the latter one will be daemons and Dark Mechanicus.

 

Still, with 'only' two Legions per book, it's a fair bet to think they'll update on the others, there still a few units/characters to be done.

 

Edit: Failure at math, corrected four to five Legions being introduced. Praise the Omnissiah.

Update: Collector's Edition is £145, £65 cheaper than buying the 3 books separately

If this is anything like previous Forge World collector's editions, you're not getting all three books. You're only getting the third book, the special book, a poster (not sure if there's a poster in this one, but all of the other CE's had one), and the box that will fit all of the books, including the first two.

 

So you're not saving any money by buying this instead of the first two books.

 

The great news about the collector's edition (okay, it's all great news) is the army list book.

 

Yeah, I posted that before the pages were actually properly formatted on the FW site, & linked together so you could actually tell whats what - my assumption at the time was that the 'Isstvan Collectors Edition' was effectively a bundle package of the 3 books

Is it just me or is Sigismund way better than every other space marine character by a mile?

Do you mean his rules in the upcoming book, or just in general? Because both are true.

I agree that he should be up their with the likes of Abaddon and Sevatar but as it is right now he is way better than both of them and could easily kill them both in 1 round of combat. The only person who comes close to him is Khârn.

Well, that would make sense since they were sparing partners in the Gladiator Pits while Siggy tagged along with them.

Ultramarines, Dark Angels, Blood Angels, Space Wolves, and Thousand Sons? That's five.

We all know that the Wolves and Sons only count as half a Legion. Together.

I came to the B&C to learn more about my 40k Ultramarines and to learn more about Space Marines in general.

Now it appears I am being sucked (Happily I may add!) more and more into 30k since arriving on the B&C...man 30k gets more and more appealing to me!

Theres going to have to be an obvious line though as mr. Magnus could theorectically have mullered the space wolves fleet before the wolves even set foot on prospero. Which is a smidge too powerful in game

Shoot according to Scars, one of the few orbital barrages that the Sons did get off did a decent number on the fleet.

I'm absolutely dreading having to fight Iron Warriors or Alpha Legion, mainly because my main opponent for 30k runs Pride of the Legion unpainted so he can experiment until he finds a legion he really like (which as so far been Death Guard). All I need is MORE special Terminators to fight :P Thank the Emperor I run Covenant of Fire most the time :D
