(Oh no, not more) Heresy World Eaters

Hi all. It's been a while since I posted last, so I thought I'd update you on where I am with my World Eaters to try and motivate me into keeping going with painting!

First off, recently completed Contemptor dreadnought;

Ah, the joy of magnets - arms swap out to be multimelta + fist, autocannon+ fist or dual autocannon rifleman style

Comments and crits welcome - if you're interested I'll post some more of my finished / wip models (having a nightmare with pics atm - "paste" isn't working, anyone know why that might be?? - mods?).

Cheers

That contemptor looks the *business*

The tiny squished bro on his base is perfection.

If you're looking for constructive crits, the only thing I can think of would be to "deepen" the brass a little bit. It looks a little single shade flat at the moment. Otherwise, superb! I can always use more inspiration ^_^

I love that pose dude. Good idea with the magnets...I'm too scared to start drilling my resin.

I find it funny that no two world eater schemes are the same. I also use the darker blue shoulders but my brass has a nuln oil wash on it with ghennas gold on it to give it a darker smoky brass color.

Thanks for the comments guys & gals, I have actually washed the gold (hashut copper) with agrax earthshade; although there's less on the chest than legs, so maybe I'll add a coat more... the light was quite flats too. Anyway, thanks for the nices; I'll post more then!

Nice work. Love the marine being stomped on.

The mould lines on the shoulders are sticking out a bit, though. Maybe consider removing them, or alternatively try to make them look like battle damage?

Eeek, yeah the mould lines :/ I figure they're actually previous battle damage that has been repaired by the tech priests to the best of their ability and then painted over... *cough* They don't look as bad in person I swear!

After the overwhelming demand for more pics (thanks Jaspcat!) I thought I'd show you some of the verrry slow progress I'm making on my Cataphractii terminators. I bought the special weapons sprue with these guys so I've magnetised some of the arms to give flexibility in loadout; either cc. or shooting orientated. The sergeant has had a special left handed bolter made to switch with his lightening claw, as the RHS claw is fixed in the "pointing at his next victim" pose. Heavy guy can take flamer or autocannon (or regular bolter) and the other three guys can take any combination of weapons. Forgeworld don't do spare shoulder pads for these guys, but I was lucky enough to find a few on ebay for not too much. Anyway, pics:

These three are all of the same guy showing potential weapon options

I painted up a combi melta (for the close combat guys) and combi plasma (for the shooty), and there's the normal twin bolters.

So let me know what you think, any comments, crits, suggestions? Oh, the dusty-looking stuff over all of them is dust - I should really paint quicker lol.

I've got a techmarine in the pipeline (if you'll pardon the expression) for Grotsmasha's challenge, although the bits aren't here yet *jumps around impatiently*

I really like it! My first thought was mouldines too though haha. Perhaps try and cover it up with either rust, chipping or some form of battle damage? If you scraped it straight off, it'd probably be okay!

Looking forward to seeing more though!

  • 5 months later...

Okkkaayyy, so it's been a while since I revisited my world eaters - I'm sorry to say I've been dallying over in the Imperial Guard forums a bit.

I thought I'd just post a quick update to say I am still verrrrryyyyyyyy slowly still working on my world eaters. Please see below the techmarine (winner of Grotsmasha's challenge!!), my counts as Khârn and a member of the command retinue (previously an apothecary). Still a few bits and pieces to complete on these guys, but you get the idea...
