ETL III is coming...

Recommended Posts

To be honest that won't be hard... ermm.gif This year you should refer to yourselves as the Repentia! tongue.png

Good luck to everyone participating and remember that completions are what counts, so even if you only vow a single model that's still good for the cause smile.png

Sadly, it's been ruled that I can only enter on behalf of one faction.  And entering sisters would be like voting for a republican in Chicago, a complete and utter waste, since there's zero chance of a respectable outcome.  I guess I have to decide between DA and IG...  Marines have always won in the past, but with stormtroopers counting for IG, and the codex being brand new, they should get a serious boost, so...I'd really want to do all three, though.

Sisters, IG, Mechanicum and Grey Knights combine their forces for the ETL and are a single faction...

Besides this is not about being in the winning team, it's about painting the minis you want to paint anyway, while supporting their faction at the same time. And remember, the ETL rewards individual performance aside of the collective one. If you complete your vows you will be awarded the Custos Fidei no matter what the overall performance of the faction is, while if you fail you'll carry the Badge of the Oathbreaker even if your faction becomes Primus Inter Pares!

So think what you want to paint the most and go for it. If it's Sisters, it's Sisters! :)

Most of my army will be repainted.  I have been holding off until ETL was announced to get started but there is a fair bit I needed to paint anyway to play some games with.  With some of my army being Imperial Guard Astra Militarum I will have to see the rules about how they fit in.  Just as a guess I'm thinking about 3000 - 3500 points total still needs to be painted.

Sisters, IG, Mechanicum and Grey Knights combine their forces for the ETL and are a single faction...

Wait what? I just play tested a Guard list with allied Sisters. Would that mean I could submit the Guard half for one vow then the Sisters for another? Also would the Inquisition be part of that faction? The IG/SoB list is an Ordo Hereticus taskforce in fluff so would have an =][= in charge.

Yes well, no... Although a single faction for the purposes of the ETL I'll ask the Imperial Forces to pledge their vows to one forum...

To tell you the truth it is just to make my life easier rather than any other deep rationale... As the B&C is structured now, I have to operate in 4 Strategiums for the Imperial Forces faction and hence having people moving around it'll add another layer of vigilance for me to avoid mistakes.

As you'll see in May 1st, the ETL is now fairly complicated anyway (as I try to keep up with the developments of the hobby) so I'm not feeling overly brave to add some more... I did think about it though, I just though t of playing it safe. Even I have limitation in the time I spend online! ;)

But what to do...

Well, you could paint something. That would be a decent start :teehee:

More seriously, if in doubt, start with the basics (in this case, some Battle Sisters)!

The most horrible thing is I realised I've been on a break from the hobby since ETL II... I have the same w.i.p. Jacobus sitting there taunting me just as it was when ETL II ended...

I started sorting through my minis getting ready for pics.  It's harder than I thought to get it all lined out.  I want to make sure all my unpainted stuff gets included so I'm worried about left over special weapons, too many superiorsor not enough bolter girls

At least the priests will be easy.  Any group of 1 to 5 is a legal unit.
