Conn Eremon
The two are inextricably tied together, in that one has a tendency to lead to the other, but they are not the same thing nor did they originate together. Plague Angel
Some people interpreted the Red Thirst as being tied to Ka'Bandha, though, and a thing that didn't affect the Blood Angels until after Signus. Recent fluff has shown it was a thing they were already dealing with before then. GhostMalone
The red thirst was due to losing Sanguinius to the red thirst, as long as the red angel lives so does the curse Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/289831-loyalist-close-combat-forces/page/3/#findComment-3659170 Share on other sites
Plague Angel
Ah, yes. "The Red Angel." Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/289831-loyalist-close-combat-forces/page/3/#findComment-3659185 Share on other sites
Blindhamster
No, they are supposed to have incidents of the red thirst prior to signus, it is a flaw in their genetic makeup. Its also worth noting that technically nothing notes that getting one results in the other. The thirst results in heightened aggression, strength and speed and eventually leads to monsters. The black rage is visions of sanguinius' final confrontation with horus, where the marine believes he is sanguinius. This seems to lead to enhanced physical capabilities and the ability to shrug off wounds (presumably because the marine has no knowledge of most of what goes on around him). GhostMalone
Yes your right about the rare case of red thirst but it wasn't till sang fell that the legion became aware oh sang and the upper command structure were aware Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/289831-loyalist-close-combat-forces/page/3/#findComment-3659933 Share on other sites
Blindhamster
True, but the flaw itself has nothing to do with the event, only that it became general knowledge to the legion Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/289831-loyalist-close-combat-forces/page/3/#findComment-3659938 Share on other sites
Plague Angel
I'd say the guys experiencing the Thirst were pretty aware of it, however much their existence was hidden. b1soul
Ah, I thought both the Red Thirst and Black Rage were caused exclusively from Horus killing Sanny. I need to catch up on the HH... Nope...the Red Thirst is a genetic defect. The Black Rage is the result of the psychic backlash caused by Sang's death. Somehow this psychic affliction is inheritable via geneseed as well Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/289831-loyalist-close-combat-forces/page/3/#findComment-3661019 Share on other sites
