First of all, excellent paintscheme. Second, Anvillach looks awesome.  Lastly, what diameter of pipe are you using on the bases?

Thanks, Thanks, and no idea. They are palstic pipes from a pegasus models scenery kit called Chemical Plant which I chop down to fit

I would love to see a WIP picture for the bases if you have one.

Nothing for these guys, but I've got another squad about to get undercoated so I'll snap some pics of their bases first and upload them tonight

thanks

Dan

Do you have any vehicles planned?

Do Dreadnoughts count?

I'm hoping to do an orbital assault army eventually so need to paint a load of drop pods and Dreadclaws, but not planning any tanks otherwise(but the Sicaran is so pretty...)

I was just curious how the scheme would translate to vehicles. I finally got the gold down so that it looks like the effect you'd achieved, but I was worried that the metallic coloring would look too gold on the large flat surfaces of a vehicle. I've got a bunch of spare rhinos lying around, so I may give it a go before you get to your drop pods :P

Let me know how it turns out!

Been a while since I've done any of these as I've had some square based deadlines come up. I have started painting Captain Anvillach and his termi friends, but in the meantime I've been knocking out a few counts as conversions too:

Lets start with the big man, Rogal Dorn:

It's just a counts as until FW gives us an official model so I wasn't too concerned that the chest detailing isn't accurate etc, it'll do as a get me by until then

And what would Lor Dorn with out his first Captain?

This is a ridiculously simple conversion for Sigismund. I wanted somethign which will work, but which I won't feel bad about shelving once an official mdoel come sout, so when FW release their Sigismund, this guy gets relegated to a templar brethren or legion champion

Speaking of Templar Brethren

I'm really happy with these guys. I'm planning another 5 using the same mdoels but drilling out the bare heads and adding mre FW legion helms. Hopefully these will see some paint after I finish the terminators!

Thanks

Dan

Thanks guys. I am really happy with the sword brethren. I've loved those models since the day I saw them previewed at Games Day way back when but never had a chance to include them in an army (my own BT army predated the 4th ed codex). I'm defintley going to bump the squad to 10 men with another 5 guys with head swaps (and a more adventurous drilling out of the power fist/lightning claw dude to get legal weapons on him)

About time! Haha, awesome work! The tabard on the Captain is a really great touch and adds a heap of character. Nice to see some close up pics as well. Great update smile.png

Edit: seeing the metallic yellow/gold up close makes me want to try a metallic purple for my III Legion...

That Terminator squad man... Some of the best Imperial Fists I've ever seen. Simply superb work. The conversion of the Captain I really like, parry with the left shield arm then bang! The basing is also excellent, the work you've put into them really paid off. As many more will no doubt say, looking forward to more!
