You can only fire one weapon st a time. Unless you've got a pair of pistols or you are a vechicle. So you can not use CML and storm bolter in one shooting phase.

Check Wolf Guard entry, page 30 of our codex. Says you may fire both CML and storm bolter in one shooting phase.

Unless you actually bother to read the rules for the CML...

@ Tommie: Excellent work - only weathering now remains! Let us know when you're done!

@ Rune Priest Sven: A great completion and a fourth(!) vow! You sir keep the SWs momentum at proper levels! :D

no, sadly not, I could have finished him like 1,5 months ago if it weren't for the end of my schoolyear and all the tests at the end.

but you are right that I am currently the leading person looking at the number of completed vows (due to my low unpainted model count not in points) but I think tommie might catch up if he has 2 more knights at ready for the VLKA FENRYKA!

Knight no.3 done.

I can now upgrade one to a seneschal +1 bs, 3+inv

So I got the thunderwolf finished now. Now it's onto Canis himself...

I out him off for a while because I was hoping to get the muscle memory working again, but now that it's hot as hell, I just don't have much motivation to paint...

Crossing my fingers here guys.

End of Line

Wow Tommie - this is awesome! Let's have a pic with all three of them - they're just fantastic quality individually and all together should look like 40K has come alive!

Sorry for being so quiet for so long.

Unfortunately I will be quite cyclical when on here, as I get loads of time to paint an post when I am offshore, but when at home I am looking after my son pretty much full-time and so I am very very limited in what I can do.

So I am 95% done with my vow. I am more or less done with the TWC and now ready to take on the TWC Lord and get this done.

So here is a sneak peak at where I am at:

Hjoldá brother Tommie, incredible output in every way, hats off!

With today's last of my brush-fu I was able to finish my first vow, better late than never I guess. So here go my Crusader and the Trike for my second Swiftclaw pack, I hope you dig:

Already noticed while reviewing the pics that there are minor things I forgot, I will be sure to correct them msn-wink.gif .

After taking that long, I'll have to think on another vow for at least a good night's sleep.

@brother Dantay_xv: Keep up the impressive work brother, you'll make us all proud!

Well between moving, a new job, and looking for a car I've finally found some time to paint. Sorry for the poor camera skills, I need to invest in a better back drop and some lighting but its a low priority at the moment. I also like my wolves to more of dark bluish grey which doesn't help matters.

SAM 0245

I'm pretty happy with Njal he is the first model I've tried using ushabti bone (before him I stuck with good ole bleached bone). I'll try and post a better picture when I'm able too.

SAM 0239

First pic of my wolf guard battle leader. He looks a little strange cause I bought him from the bitz guy at adepticon who was selling him as a rune priest with an old librarian arm force axe. So I added a plastic termie arm. I'm trying to think of a good title for him.

SAM 0240

Here is a side shot that shows the shoulder pad. I like to paint them on the sprue and almost forgot to add it to himsmile.png

fangs

These are my long fangs which hopefully I make a lot more progress on soon. The heavy bolters have given me problems because I'm really good at chipping the barrels when I take them off the sprue. I have decided to make it look like battle damage.

@ dantay: Those shields man... They give your squad a totally different feel. They're works of art! Let's see this vow done before the deadline!

@ Tommie: Yeah, they are an impressive lot alright! Once again congratulations on this outstanding result!

@ Bulweih: That's it! An timely completion and a damn impressive one too! Well done mate, hopefully others will follow your lead.

@ viddar: That's a great dark grey you've made there! Look forward for the completed lot!

C'mon guys - if you just do your first vows your standing will be propelled to a whole different level! All you have to do is finish your initial vow!

UPDATED TO THIS POINT!

@ Dantay - I like the shield designs, but seriously though, they look a tad to oversized to use with your wolves in my opinion. It's even bigger than the huge kite shields that the Deathwing Knights use and makes your models look like they are puny in comparison to the shields.

That being said, love your poses, the large variety of weapon wielding wolves.

Hi Kasper,

I actually 100% agree about the size of the shields, and thanks for the critique, it is what helps us to grow and improve.

I can see where I have made mistakes in the painting where I have tried to rush gettnig them done, as I am now a week behind schedule (not thinning the paints, much less blending etc) s ried to mitigate it a wee bit by strapping them to their backs.

I do have plans to eventually make smaller shields as these bigger ones were actually intended to be used with the terminators and were very much a prototype.

Something else that i have toyed with idea-wise was to put wee jewels into the wooden backs with thin wire to act as suspensor units, lightening the load

However as each shield tkes 2-3 hours work, I pretty much backed myself into a corner time-wise and the smaller shields will go on hold.

So for now and for the purposes of my vow these are considered done, but I will revisit them at some point in the future :)

The shields themselves are about 24mm diameter based on 2p coins.

@ dantay - Yep, for the purpose of the vow, lets leave the large shields be. It's a great testament to your creativity and talent anyway, the size not withstanding. Personally I think it would be too big for Terminator armour as well, but maybe later, you can try dedicate some time to "trimming" the size. Encrusting the shields with jewels would be a fantastic idea as well.

@ everyone else - Anyway, I managed to finally do my drop pod. Damn, of all the joys I've experienced since starting painting this year, vehicle assembly AND painting is not as fun as space marines or even the dreadnought. It's so tiresome cutting out so many big and small parts and then paint it. But I gotta do it, I estimate for a balanced list, I'm going to need at least 3 drop pods and 3 rhinos/razorbacks.

Well, that's half of my third vow done. 5 more hunters to go. Goodnight guys, off to bed for me.

Because I now have 3 Imperial Knights finished I decided my Power fist knight needed to be promoted to Seneschal.
So he needed tarting up more. He needed a Banner and a name;

 Metallus  Imperius

@ dantay: Well, 40k scale has always been... out of scale. :D Guns and swords are totally oversized so why not the shields? It's "heroic" scale, no?

@ Tommie: The banner is awesome man... wow! Now you have made a legal army of three Knights and a Seneschal no less... :o
