Sorry my progress has been slow but I at least got my first squad done.  Here's completed squad Gozer, Gozer the Gozerian, Gozer the Traveler, Lord of the Sebouilla, Gozer the Destructor!  Or just Myrmidon Destructors.

I've only managed to complete one squad of my rather large vows so far, though from now on I will have a lot more time to paint, so I'm not worried. Also the Iron Warrior squad is still almost ready, as the squad I actually completed is the Medusan Immortals:

Thanks Heathens. I'm actually taking a holiday in the UK soon

I would offer you a game if I had more then 8 models and didn't live in a part of Surrey I doubt you would visit. I do work at Heathrow Terminal 4 though so if you heading through that way let me know. I work in a place that sees everyone so if I'm I could potentially say hi.

 

8 models is currently more than I have assembled... As it turns out I will be coming through Terminal 4 on the 23rd.

@Telhdrat..that is an impressive wall of immortals! You have really made black "pop" great stuff!

 

@Relict..fantastic cataphractii. ..is the sgt trying to compensate for something haha..looking forward to your apothecaries. ..I have got a contemptor and Capt Sharn on the painting table at the moment..real life issues have pushed my schedule back a bit..

That red is fantastic. Can I ask how you archived it?

 

To prepare to you first need to paint roughly 10K points of Blood Angels.  Barring that, here's the highlights:

  • Since red is so translucent, like many of the warmer colors, I like to start from a very even white undercoat.  If the paint is just thin enough the contours of the surface will begin to make a natural shadow to highlight effect for you.
  • The base red is GW's Red Gore (which I think they still make?).
  • The shadows are darkened with Crimson wash.
  • The highlights are then built up with Blood red (which I don't think they make any more) up to Blazing Orange at the very edges.
  • You need the limit the amount of orange you use because it will start to dominate and then the surface appear orange vs.red.

That's about it really.  The 10K points of BA are of course optional but recommended.

-1 Legion Vindicator with Armoured Ceramite, Machine Spirit, Dozer Blade, Havoc Launcher, Extra Armour and Auxiliary Drive of a total of 205 points, on or before the first of August, in the year of 2014.

 

Success of this vow shall bring great glory to the Fourth Legion of Adeptus Astartes, and failure shall see me cast from the ranks of Warsmiths into the nearest Forlorn Hope against the Palace of the false emperor!
