Progress on my Praetor. Sorry I'm a tad slow, university's now over though so I can get on with it properly!

Anyone who has not yet read the news of Brother Argos' stepping down from his position within the bnc should go to this thread:

It is my belief that to kickstart this fund raising, all members who have vowed in the ETL iii for the Horus heresy should seriously consider making an annual donation.

Some one has estimated that if only 300 of the total 67000 members of bnc were to make a $10 donation per year it would be ample to keep the bnc afloat.

I, myself will be making my humble smal contribution this Friday to do my part. I think we all owe it to Brother Argos, the bnc, ourselves and each other to make this annual donation.

It is up to US to keep the bnc running. It is up to YOU.

What say you?

Looking good guys, keep the pace!

Right now you are behind AoD, BTs and Chaos but slightly ahead the DAs. The diferences are not big but you need to remain focus. Whatever you do, do not compromise the fantastic quality of your painting! :)

Quick question for you Semper. All I have left on my first vow is my Warhound Titan. I ordered a new Airbrush to baptize the little bugger, but it will be 2-3 weeks until I can get cracking on it. Can I start painting a second vow in the meantime or add to my first vow?

Brothers,

This is a sad day as our most iconic Brother Argos has decided to step down.

His post announcing his decision can be found here: Brother Argos steps back

This has been a difficult decision for him given how much he has put into this community over the years in terms of time and effort and of course money.

Now as our paymaster steps back it's time for the frater that frequent and enjoy this forum to step forward and try to fill in the gap in order to keep the B&C running smoothly.

You will notice a donation button in the top left hand corner of the home page. If you want the B&C to survive do not turn your back to it now. Any amount is welcome, the B&C survival depends on that!

Full support to Brother Argos, my mother has a similar condition.

An update on my progress to date for my Death Guard, the tacs, autocannons, volkites and terminators (not included in the vow as they were started earlier) are finished barring the bases.  I'm struggling a bit with those.

The bases have been causing me some grief, as I can't find a painting method I like for them.  I think I'm going to use the Terminators bases across the army as a temporary solution for the tournament.

Currently the bases are sculpted from das putty, undercoated, painted zandri dust, washed gryphonne sepia, some dust pigments put on sections and finished with a drybrush of terminatus stone

Those are some fantastic Death Guard, Brother Sanvael! I think the bases look great too.

I've finished the Iron Warrior tactical squad:

I think they grumbled a bit at being overlooked like their legion so often is when I painted the Medusan Immortals first, but at least they're ready now.

Those are some beautiful DG!  I think the bases you did on the Termies are awesome and would do just fine for the entirety of the army!

I've finished the Iron Warrior tactical squad:

Wonderful looking, the colors are soooo good!  Are your bases completed?  Just wasn't sure on the status of the bases, but even as simple as they are they seem to go well!

Thank you. The colours were heavily inspired by Pyromancers superb Iron Warriors. As for the bases, I'll tidy up the edges, but other than that yeah. When I realized just how many legions I'd be building I decided to keep all the bases quite simple to save my painting/building time for the actual models.

Well you have done them a great justice in any regard!  Keep them coming.  You are making me anxious to start up my stuff for Vow #3, but currently I am on vacation hanging with friends and family, so I have another week before I make my third vow!  Thanks for the inspiration!

Also, are these guys tactical or Assault?  I only ask because it looks like they are just armed with bolt pistols and chainswords.  Just curious!

Well I must say that every time i look at this thread i am amazed at the skill and dedication that everybody outs in to their miniatures, well done you all. As for myself i would like to post up the first co pelted model from my vow, a Rapier Laser destroyer:

Alongside this I have finished the body of my Contemptor, but not the replacement arms for the vow. As such I am showing it with different arms, once I finish the vowed ones I will stick it up with them, but as thats a few weeks away here it is currently:

Any comments or criticisms welcome. Cheers everybody!

Sorry to hear the news on Brother Argos. I didn't know the man personally, but he sounded like an upstanding fellow. Prayers to his recovery.

Those are some awesome Death Guard and Iron Warriors. My own World Eaters are nearing completion. All that remains is a 5-man section of tactical marines. Then my vow would be complete.

Characters ahoy! Had to take a break from painting the Javelins - After batch painting 30 infantry, just painting two models felt like they took almost no time at all!

They're not quite complete just yet - still scheming on some further decorative whatnot of the cloth on the two models. Need to touch up that sunburst as well - very rusty painting that symbol. Oof.

More to come!

I'm really impressed by all this progress and the sheer quality of the output! Congratulations everybody - the HH forum really retains the high standards that we are accustomed to!

Keep it up! (the pace and the quality I mean)
