Sweet - exactly how the Iron Tenth should be - brutal, gritty and uncompromising - you do the sons of Medusa proud Mortis biggrin.png

And I'm guessing from his skin tone that he's a native Medusan? What with the surface's dangerously low levels of solar exposure from all the Dark Age pollution

Right.

@ Chaplain Mortis: This is quality stuff mate - you uphold the HH reputation on painting quality!

@ Vazzy well done! The HH forum is certainly in the game thanks to your timely completion!

UPDATED TO THIS POINT!

Well guys good news, falchion is bordering in satisfactory completion in my books, my only issue is the last rhino holding me up and trying to squeeze time into finishing my last 2 HQchoices.

Bases for the last tac squad aren't getting done to save time so fingers crossed I can manage the last little bits in the next 3 weeks

@Relict... $800! Sweeeeeet! Cant wait to see what goodies you have in that parcel..hope it turns up very soon for you!

@Iron hands fanatic. ..thank you very much for your kind words! Got to admit that I really like painting these up and definitely wanted to capture the harshness of Medusa in the skin tones..thank you for noticing..

@Capt semper...many thanks once again for your kind words..very appreciated. . (Here's to hoping the heresy forum wins best painted mini as a collective again haha)

@Daemonclaw...if I could afford to get private medical, man I would be fully bionic. ...just not sure I would trust that on the NHS....

@Vazzy...well done on completion mate..all looks sweet! Anything else in the pipeline?

Almost forgot..

I Chaplain Mortis vow to complete:

10 man breacher squad..nuncio vox..lightning claw..artificer armour: 260 points

Brother Chaplain Mortis, FW informed me today that my order has shipped. I estimate a week for it to reach me here in California.

As for the goodies, I have ten assault marines, twenty tactical marines, accessory kits (special weapons, etc.) for them, two Sicarans, and a Spartan. All except the centurion and standard bearer will be painted in XII Legion colors.

I plan on pledging a ten-man tactical squad - I have no experience painting the vehicles and pledging one of them and not finishing the job would mean forfeiture of my prior completed vow and shaming of my brothers. :P

Least of all I don't want to be cut down by you in the XII Legion painting pit.

@longfang66- That's an awesome Falchion! I didn't really its look before but you certainly made it rock.

@Vazzy- Great work! I like the baneblade too. Looks like it's been in the field but isn't overtly battle scarred, which suits the Ultramarines quite well.

@chaplain Mortis- Thanks and awesome work as usual! I dread to think how my painting would look if I did it with my left hand. The salamanders green was done with a mix of castellan green and caliban green (50/50), highlighted with a mix of castellan green & warpstone glow (50/50) and then washed with a mix of nuln oil & agraxx earthshade (50/50) and some water.

I fear the group shot will have to wait until next week as like any good space marine I will be spending my weekend by hitting people with a sword (although one made of foam). However, I'll leave this WIP shot here in the meantime:

Great to see the momentum going!

@ Chaplain Mortis: A promising vow there - you'd better finish it on time mate for failing one vow is failing all!

@ Telhdrart: Beautiful! Can't wait to see this done! Great use of blue as a spot colour!

UPDATED TO THIS POINT!

One times tactical blob. There's a mixture of DG torsos and helms, as well as the odd IH head, and yes the sergeant has a scythe :)

@Telhdrat - they look great, the only thing I could say as criticism of sorts would be to give the green on the volkites a dark green wash, then a light green/white mix highlight to make them pop and look more alive - atm (poss due to the pic) they look quite flat, which is a massive shame as the rest of the models look awesome brother :D

They look awesome. Good combo of parts, great paintjob and characterful bases. Well done! We need a better shot of the scythe sergeant!

@Relict..2 sicarans and a spartan!! O.k officially jealous..wish you luck with them mate..I would love vehicles for my worldeaters but to scared to paint them! If you haven't already, then get an airbrush! Be good to see more of you in the painting pits brother

@Teldhrat. .thanks so much for your green recipie..might have to give that a go! And sweet work on those cataphractii. .the chainmail sets them off perfect! And hope you have a good weekend...sounds like fun, will keep an eye out for your group photo of your minis

@Durfast...I can only repeat what Raass has already said...great use of bits and your customary high quality painting! Well done mate.

@Capt Semper..never fear my friend..I still have the next 9 days off work (yay) and these guys paint up quick..just wish the XBox would stop giving me the eye haha.

And just a taster..finished the sgt and his mate..

@CHaplain Mortis. Ugh. I really hate you. Those Iron Hands are just... so fricking awesome. The best I've seen anywhere.  What colour scheme can you not do? Good job mate, really nice stuff there.

@Armond: loving the chainglaives mate!

@Armond: loving the chainglaives mate!

Glad you like!  I have two slots open to make them them ten strong, but I may just leave them as is so I can fit a Primus Medicae and a Praetor/Centurion in their unit for rides in the Land Raider.

Chaplain Mortis: Amazing. Really nice work on the Xth.

Armond: He looks cool, i want to model a heavy chainsword held in the same way so i may steal that.

Steal away!  Glad you approve!

@ Durfast: Well it's good to see your signature style again. There is no such thing as too much DG - or too much any Legion for that matter! And yes, give us a couple of shots on the sergeant - let's see that scythe man! :D

@ Chaplain Mortis: this weathering/battle damage is awesome! A problem with the predominantly black Legions is that they may look dull (as a DA I should know) but with your treatment they look as exciting and individual as they can be! I need to start developing this skill myself...

@ Armond: Lovely people those NLs... The sort you wish you had for neighbors... NOT! :P
