So you can ignore the first Typhon as that's a repaint, but the second and the two Spartans sees my vow complete:

I'm practically done. All that's left is to wait for an oil wash to dry so that I can give a black drybrush to the exhausts of my Iron Warrior vehicles and to take the final pictures. In the meantime here's Fulgrim and the EC Land Raider:

Just a quick thank you to captain semper for organising such a great event and to all of you who may have not have completed your vows but at least you all got some hobby time in over the past three months. Real life gets priority. A little of something is better than nothing.

I have at last finished my work. I was planning for a small second one initially but fine weather and a few other things kept that from happening, but at least my first vow is now ready.

Now for the confession. I have to report an incomplete vow. I clean forgot that I hadn't ordered the other 5 assault marines from FW yet... D'oh.  Being Raven Guard, I prefer to think they're still lurking in the shadows. Still, hope you like the ones I did manage.

Thanks everyone for their kind words!

I've been looking at the recent completions and I have to say I'm blown away from the quality presented here - the HH forum are truly the Princes of the ETL!


@ longfang: Your IF termies are shockingly good - how do you guys go about the yellow is beyond me...

@ Balthamal: A great completion after three months of consistent updates and hard work - you should be rightly proud brother...

@ SW1: Very effective approach to those large surfaces of one of the weirdest super-heavies around. Excellent!

@ BassWave: Two things really captured me: The humongous claw and the red undersuit (whatever the proper word for it is). Talking about creativity...

@ Mordian7th: This is a huge effort and investment to a Legion that has yet to see support form FW. One word: Respect!

@ Relict: Savage looking or what? tongue.png I don't think there is any other Legion that looks so well with splattered blood... Gruesome! biggrin.png

@ Wolf_Pack: You said you were gonna do it and you did it! Bravo man - this is a conclusion to an epic presence here in the ETL!

@ Brother Sanvael: *sits down as cannot grasp the size/quality combo in front of him* WOWWWWWWWWWW!!! I don;t know what to say... so I'll say something weird: outstanding skin tones! (I really mean it - they skin is fantastic). But that's an infantry army in top quality painting in three months? eek.gif

@ Durfast: Well, there must be some conspiracy with the DG - huge amounts of them in top quality! You know i have a thing for your style but so much of it it's too much awesomeness to process...*salutes*

@ Rumor Control: I think you totally captured the essence of the IH - black but metallic at the same time! And I completely approve of the green-ish details - excellent!

@ Telhdrat: Well, another epic journey came to a close... Three legions all compete for attention and all testify to your commitment to the setting and the ETL! Congratulations man!

@ Pyromancer: You got me worried there for a while - I thought you disappeared... Thankfully everything is in order and you've done a great job with those IWs! You should be rightly proud!

@ jasp: Yeah, big vow = big risk! A lot of things can come up in three months and you have all your eggs in one basket... There will be other opportunities though! msn-wink.gif

Ah, I forgot to ask, as you can see I left out the side doors from the Glaive as I'm waiting for Forge World to make Iron Warrion doors. I hope that's okay Captain Semper?

He even tried to avoid getting finished by jumping off my desk... the backpack literally exploded. Took me nearly half an hour just to find all the little pipes on his back.

Damn fine work, brothers.

It was a nice feeling to wrap up my vow last night, kick back, and light a cigar while watching the paint dry. biggrin.png

I Reyner of the Horus Heresy forum vow:

  • Moritat - Jump pack, dual plasma pistols 135 points
  • Destroyers - 5 marines, jump packs, rad missile launcher 250 points
  • Tactical Squad - 10 marines 150 points

Total value: 535 points.

Vow complete!

Not as good as some but I'm happy with them and my first finished marines for around 5 years :P (crap pictures though)

Epic stuff all 'round gentlemen! They will learn to fear the Heresy forums.

 

I'll try and get the hang of my new phone's camera settings and repost some better pictures. While this is a rush paint job for Titan, the white plates have a weathered look you just don't see on the current ones.

Unfortunately I'm not going to make it. The past two nights have seen me working until 2am when I'm meant to finish at 5pm everyday (such are the joys of IT)

 

So I've not had the time available to finish my vow :( Such a shame too as I was liking how my breachers were coming out)

He certainly doesn't look rushed.

 

I'd probably have gone for it, but we're off to the medieval centre on Falster this morning to watch some friends joust and get measured up for some late Medieval English style gauntlets. If anyone else is going to be there, look out for the middle aged chap with four teenagers and a brown Labrador in tow ;)

 

So seeing I'll miss the finish, I'd like to congratulate the HH team for a cracking run this year and personally thank Capt Semper for his stewardship of the event.

Hmmm ... How many have u completed? If it's just breachers I might be able to make up the missing number as I'm back in manchester in an hour. Lol ... Can even make them have matching bases. ;)

 

Not sure if this is allowed but if it is then worth a try?
