Antarius' ETL III WiP thread. Also some fluff about the army

Recommended Posts

I got around to doing some more work today. Mostly washes and layering on the vehicles though, so nothing really dramatic + it's getting late so I'll be off to bed instead of snapping lots of pics right now :)

Tomorrow is a day off though. And a friend of mine is coming over early in the day to hang out and paint minis. So with a bit of luck I should get some vehicles completed (or close to completed) and have pics for you tomorrow afternoon.

Well, here's a shot of my vehicles lined up:

The lighting's not the best, but as you can see there's stuff from my current vow, my completed vow and a Vindicator I painted before the ETL. I mostly lined them up to see if their colors matched up reasonably well as I've used slightly different methods in painting them.

As for my earlier question regarding allying in Templars or Iron Hands, I decided to do both. So my next vow will contain slightly less IF stuff and lots of black armour.

But now a new question has presented itself: should I do hazard stripes on the unfinished Vindicator as well? If not, what should I do about the siege shield?

Gah! My girlfriend has been blessed by Nurgle, so I'm sort of out of commission over the weekend while I go and look after her.

I've gotten a little bit done though; applied some transfers and messed around with some basing schemes (I'm currently looking at a brown/grey urban rubble and mud kinda thing, that seems to work pretty well with the yellow).

I've also gotten and airbrush paint and washes resupply run done, so my preshading project should be able to go ahead around tuesday or wednesday. After that it's "just" a bit of assembly line work on the Termies, some work on the Vindicator and I'll be kinda-sorta done.

See? I told you that no good would come from consorting with a female! ;)

Hope she gets better soon. I 'm really liking the hazard stripes on the vindicator. Very IVth Legion. Are they freehanded or did you use some kind of ruler to get straight lines? Good work on your vow. Keep it up.

In the name of the Primarch Progenitor and the Cult of Yellow, this log be bitchin'.

Your Lysander is looking good, I did my own one myself so I'm a big fan of counts-as characters. Breathes more life into an army.

Thanks a bunch for your comments guys thanks.gif

Re: the Vindicator, I used some masking tape but as I didn't have any tape that was broad enough, the lines actually aren't all that straight if you look closely. Covering it up was actually a big part of why I did all the weathering and battle damage whistlingW.gif

I'm not sure whether to do the hazard stripes on the other Vindicator as well. What do you guys think?

  • 4 weeks later...

Okay then. It's been close to two weeks of idleness, which in turn has led to heresy. That is to say; I've been playing a few games with my Chaos Marines instead of painting.

I'm sorry! I'm sorry! Please don't kill me.

Luckily, I've also gotten my vow to a state of *near* completion:

Basically, I'm missing a few touch-ups here and there and the chevrons on the siege shield. Which I should hopefully be able to do tonight or tomorrow.
