Brother Ambroz
I've finally fallen from the dark graces of chaos and decided to make a DIY warband. It will be heavily influenced by an older cartoon. Hope to have this guy finished today or tomorrow. Haven't quite decided on a name yet either. Noctus Cornix
Personally, I must confess that I'm not the biggest fan of the paint scheme choice, but your paint job is actually quite well done, man. You've really grown since starting your Night Lords and it shows in this model. The blue and the red are at a good contrasting level and both are nicely shaded. Can't wait to see this done. Hell, maybe a fully painted model will change my mind about it. ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/290552-diy-chapter/#findComment-3673660 Share on other sites
A Son of Sanguinius
To tie the model together, what color will the arms and backpack be? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/290552-diy-chapter/#findComment-3673740 Share on other sites
Brother Ambroz
Thanks for looking guys. Deathspectre I'll give ya one guess and then I'll tell ya. A hint, it's an old martial artsy cartoon from the 90s. Noctus thanks alot man, I'll try to convince ya. The color scheme is heavily influenced by the cartoon in question. Hope to change your mind on it as the model comes along! I also felt that just painting Night Lords, while fun, wasn't really progressing my painting skills much anymore so hopefully I'll learn some new tricks with a new paintscheme and army. Son of Sanguinus wasn't actually quite sure but I just finished a basecoat and quick shade of the arms and bolter, so far the arms are the same red and the gauntlets are the blue. Thinking of doing one shoulderpad blue and the other black, hopefully I'll be able to figure something out for the black shoulderpad. I'd like to print up some sort of transfer, as there's a kanji symbol I'd like to make as the chapter symbol. Worst comes to worst I'll get a marker or try my hand at freehanding it with a brush. Any ideas for the backpack color? I'm thinking red, although blue or black are also possibilities. Also anyone have any tutorials or info on printing decals and then transferring them? Edit: updated with a few photos. Have to highlight metallics and finish painting the bolter after that tiny bit of GS dries. Don't think I like how the shoulderpads turned out so far though. Might change the colors up for something else. http://i1094.photobucket.com/albums/i458/Garvi_Loken/Mobile%20Uploads/image_zps7a68dbd4.jpghttp://i1094.photobucket.com/albums/i458/Garvi_Loken/Mobile%20Uploads/image_zps91a7ce3e.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/290552-diy-chapter/#findComment-3674858 Share on other sites
That Guy Matt
Well I'm liking the scheme so far. It's hard to make an original scheme now without going really over the top but I think you're striking a good balance.
