Contemptor looks suitably DA stylee, and Indio is the best beer in Mexico...

oddly enough, i never see the Dos XX dark here, but that one is a close second...

keep up the good work...

cheers

If you want some Mexican beer, grab yourself some Day of the Dead or something from Cerveseria Minerva. And get a michelada, not a bottle of Corona. :p If you are looking for mainstream, Negra Modela or Modela Especial are both better beers by Corona's brewer.

Contemptor and Praetor look very cool and I don't think that freehand is 'meh' at all, it looks pretty good! Nice to see some Heresy DA!

I can vouch for Negra Modelo (assuming Negra Modela and Negra Modelo are the same? Grupo Modelo are the Corona guys) being a solid beer.

I generally drink Belgian beers at home though, I'm a Hoegaarden man.

I never considered using backpack banners on Contemptors before, but I am now...

EDIT: Spellig and gammar.

Here's the start of my spartan, I plan to also paint the exhaust fumes (in addition to the laser flares and cupola) that Balthasar gold. I also plan to paint the side doors all checkered and add some bits here and there.

Progress started:

I will add some hanging parchment and burning censer to the side after I'm done painting to bless the charging occupants

Spartan is done and I'm super glad and happy!!!

I was surprised I finished it without rage quitting and was happy with the results. When I did something I didn't like I went over and and tried something new. I feel that I also picked up new painting techniques that I haven't tried before and was scared initially to do so. I did some wet blending, checkers, and even weathering!

I can't wait to show my results, it might not look as good as others, but I was happy with the outcome and the journey to get there

Pics posted tomorrow after bandwidth resets....

Oh and more beer and rum was consumed in healthy fashion and to aid my painting skills :P

What do you guys think? I had a hard time thinking of how to do chipping and I settled on a modern brick red tank undercoat primer with silver chipping

Honestly, if you are going to go through the trouble of doing a brick red undercoat and do some heavy chipping-- I think you need to weather and dirty up the treads.  Clean treads and a dirty tank is really jarring to look at.

Really spiffy looking tank though, congratulations are in order!

@chaplain

Someone else mentioned this too about the tracks on another site and I completely agree. What colors should I use to weather the silver tracks?

@dss7

Thanks dude :D I'm glad you follow through with my thread! More to come of course!!!
