*sniff sniff sniff*

I thought I smelled awesome. Welcome to the Fang brother!! As a terminator fan myself, I must say that seeing your army and the progress you are making with it makes me very happy and then kick myself for not doing more of what your on about in here!! The hammers look perfect with the Cataphractii armor and that Praetor is worthy of leading the force as well!!

Nice work!!

End of Line

Hi there Rune_Priest_Rhapsody.

Thank you. I am glad that you are liking the terminators so far. We all have our painting styles, mine has always been very slow, like 5 years to paint a squad slow, so this is warp speed for me.

I am lucky that my job involves a lot of down time and I can fill it with painting, which has really invigorated me to get back into it.

My only regret is that I didn't start these a week later or they would have been eligible for the ETL's :( But thats the way the runes fall :D

Did you look at the bottom of the last page? If not please do and pick a shield for my terminators and pick a terminator to stick it to :)

Anyway, somebody nabbed the camera last night, so I couldnt get pictures, so tonight some WIP before I crack on:

Group shot. I am trying something new with the hammers, trying to make them look like ice or mystical or something, not sure if its worked out though... Your opinions would be invaluable here.

For expediency, and so I can crack on with the ETL stuff, I am doing 4 with helmets, I will not glue them in as later on I will come back to them and maybe give them proper Space Wolf heads.

Darn that axe needs some tidying up!!

It's clobberin' time... I need to tidy up the gems on his hammer..

All hints, tips constructive criticism welcome... And pick a shield!!

Cheers Sven,

Well last update of the night: Did the helms, although towards the end I was getting cross-eyed.

The helms are not glued in.

Still to do: 1. The steel... Ran out of badab black and my paints are going solid, the A?C is drying everything out.

Tidy up the golds

Sort the hammer haft after I get my badab black!

Hope you guys like :)

looks really nice. I am definitely going to order some of those hammer/axe heads for my termies. What is your gold recipe out of interest? I am trying to figure out mine at the moment and am having a touch of difficult deciding between Vallejo air gold and the GW paints. Might end up doing a mix!

Hi Skeletoro.

I am using old GW paints,

Shining Gold, with a wash of ogryn flesh (I like the redder tinge over the more brown gryphonne sepia).

Go over it again with shining gold.

Highlight up mixing shining gold with burnished gold and then burnished gold to about 50/50 with mithril silver.

I have no idea how good or bad the new GW golds are,but my old golds are almost dead (turning to paste), but I did have some friends recommend the vallejo golds, which they said are more glossy.

Sorry I couidn't help further.

I can't wait to see how your wolves come along and I am so jealous of you having an airbrush just now..

Out of curiosity, how do you plan to distinguish between runic armour and power armour? I am planning on press molding the runes from the dwarf shoulder pads and applying those to their armour. Hope the ELT judges approve.

I've been practicing my sculpting skills and i have come up with a fairly workable way to 'carve' runes into armour. I have yet to actually paint any of the runes I've done this way, so I can't be sure whether it will look better than, say, freehand. I'll try and get some photos with better close ups on my wip thread soon!

anyway. Her's what i do

1) dremel a hole where i want the rune to go (say... 2mm diameter and 1mm deep?

 2) mix up some green stuff and fill the hole

3) carve rune into green stuff before it hardens

4) after it is cured, gently file/sand down for tidiness (brown stuff is better than green stuff for sanding)

cell phone sucka for this!!

I don't know how I never thought of this it's so stupidly simple...I will definitely have to try this soon.

So I got home from working offshore and started looking out my models for the vow.

They were pretty beat up pinch.gif, so a fair bit of repair work has needed to be done.

Storage for these guys is going to be a pain Any way here are some pictures. Oh and Rune Priest Sven, care to choose your wolf??

Sorry the pictures are so small, I am having an issue with photobucket, not sure if its the Internet Explorer ermm.gif

The pack:

The fenrisian wolves:

Hey Skeletoro.

Yup, Cataphractii, Thunderwolves.. And much, much more. This army is a very achievable Logan Army as he makes all the terminators troops and you run the TWC as fast attack, I am guessing it would be blimmin' nasty to try and deal with.

Its a pity I couldn't pledge the cataphractii ermm.gif

Thunder Hammer & Storm Shield, plus the Chain Fist & Storm Shield are ridiculously pricy. On my older Indomitus Terminators they are all glued in place so rule of cool for them.

These guys, well I was going to go for rule of cool, but I do have a bunch of phobos and Tartaros storm bolters lying around now so I could magnetize them.... I'll have to think on that.

Thunder Wolves are not pinned. They have been like that for over a year because I am a bit lazy. I probably will go bacl and pin them after the ETL.

My preferred method of pinning to a base is the old school brass tack (drawing pin) with the wide flat head. The flat head gives you loads of surface area for gluing plus stability, and the stabby end is long enough to pin most stuff.

Hey RPS, cool, you picked a wolf, a name and a shield, Thank you. I will work on fluff for them shortly :)

Come on folks, I need more help here :D

Talking of Terminators, look what landed in the post today laugh.png

My friend & DA player, sent over most of my terminator contingent, what he "forgot to post was all the rest of them plus the wolf and rune priests which were going to be part of my second vow RTBBB.gifcensored.gif

Darned dress wearers.

So this is what showed up and again some patching up required. Those models bearing Storm Shields will have them replaced in time, but for now and if they make it to the ETL storm shields stay in place for convenience. Also those that are already painted or too far gone will get resprayed. Should I make them old school 30K grey or still to 40K Wolves colours?:

2 of my Wolf Lords, 1 was to be Erik Morkai (right) the other was my Arjac stand in, before I bought the Arjac model.

Each is a squad of 5, or should be, but he left some models out, he is a trusted friend, so I will assume it is because I requested unpainted models so he kept the painted ones back... Silly me!

DSC02195

My 2 Lone Wolves, 1 is Tyberos with gubbins added and a cool back story that I am working on and the other carries the banner of his lost company, as a reminder of their failings against the Thousand Sons, he will fight with whichever company faces Chaos in the hope of finding and slaying the Cabal of sorcerors who brought his company low. Only then will his honour be satisfied!

Daemonslayer will be good, sorry I have been a little quiet, family time just now. Its going to be a bit quieter as we are jetting off on a family holiday, but do not fear.

I will come roaring back with a vengeance when the holiday is done!!

Don't worry I haven't and will not forget about Ingvar & Iron fur. Their saga is just beginning :)

Infact here is a better picture, as I am now on google chrome (so much better than IE)

Ingvar is magnetised so he can carry a thunder hammer too!!
