sentinel WIP-265th Burloak Dragoons 3rd company,light recon

So here is a near finished sentinel, it just needs some small touch ups and mud on the base. This dude hails from the 265th Burloak dragoons 3rd company light recon.

 

I have some inkling as to how i want to make aforementioned mud, only i can't decide to green stuff it and make a kinda dried out look or use tissue and pva glue (art attack style) and make wet clumpy earth poop...thoughts?suggestions?criticism?
