KhorneFlakes
Hi, I want to paint over a dark blue with a dark red or a metal. How should I do this? Can I do it in one coat? what should I use as a base? Cheers in advance Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/291726-repainting-models/ Share on other sites
Grotsmasha
If you're not going to strip the model, then a coat of black first would be a good step. Fibonacci
If you are using GW's paint, use their Base line. They cover other colors well. Mephiston Red, for example, is the Base red. For metal? That depends on the metal color you want. Something like Leadbelcher or anything that would be steel I would put right on top of a dark blue. Gold does best with a brown base. Just get a darker version of the metal color you want and use the Base closest to that. Also a good quality primer could cover dark blue in one coat.
