-Deus ex Ferrum - Thanks! : )

-Aegnor - I do Excoriator stories from time to time, like the short story Bastions. I'm working on something similar to them at the moment but would love to come back to them in a full novel. Perhaps I'll prod one of my editors...

Scribe of Khorne - Demetrius Katafalque, the original chapter master of the Excoriators features as a character with the Custodes in my Heresy short story 'Hands of the Emperor'. : )

Captain Idaho - Thanks a lot. : ) I like Tauro Nicodemus also. When writing the story, working with all of the Iron Warriors characters, it surprised me that an Ultramarine could stand out like that. I liked the way he brought something else to the dire situation in the Schadenhold. Cheers. Tauro Nicodemus also features as a character in my Heresy short story 'A Deeper Darkness'. : )

Cormac Airt - Yeah, I kind of felt the same way. In my opinion, at least, a Legion of the Damned book needs to belong to another faction in some way because as an otherworldly phenomenon its difficult to have the Legion of the Damned front and centre in the story. You can't ask readers to respond to the mystery while at the same time destroying the mystery. The Modus Operandi is that the Legion of the Damned only come in at the last moment to save other Imperial factions against horrific odds. I needed a group to provide that kind of scenario and built up the Excoriators from scratch to do that. Then, with Zachariah Kersh of course, they kind of took on a life of their own. It's great that you responded in that way to the novel since I feel that of all the elements, the Excoriators are the most, well, 'me'. : ) Thanks for reading!

Dragonlover and Nineswords - Great minds think alike!

Oh, and by the way, new blog entry - 'Excoriators!'

Without trying to focus purely on my own self-interests (who am I kidding right?); I think the reason you've been surprised by how much an Ultramarine can stand out is because you did it right! Often you read online that they are "characterless", "generic", "mary-sue" (hate that last term) but they have a real untapped character at their core that BL and GW are only just coming to grips with after many years of evolution.

In my, should-be-but-probably-not, opinion.

Hello smile.png

I haven't read any of your stories yet sad.png I have a list as long as my arm (if I recall a few of yours are in there) that I want to get through sooner than later. It's always nice to be able to interact with BL writers. A question I'd like to ask is, do you or any of your BL colleagues intend on doing novel(las) on the less known Chapters (I certainly understand if your response is "I can not say" msn-wink.gif ). I know I'd like a story on one certain Chapter! laugh.png
