My favourite Black templars pic is from the 3rd edition basic Astartes codex. This demented amazing image, of 3rd's macabre poster boys.

The above must be desperate times. The EC's sword is not only broken, but bent.

Freakin' finecast...

You owe me for a new keyboard.

Indeed, it is far too early in the morning for me to laugh that hard. I will be most unpopular with my better half...

Please tell me I'm not the only one who gets disappointed when people don't use this.

I mean, cool art, but I HIGHLY doubt that was supposed to be a chaplain.

Yeah, I prefer that layout as well, but I don't mind art that deviates from it, especially if it is only minor like the above.  I generally use that layout but I've made some modifications because there is no display for Marshals, Castellans or Techmarines. So I've adopted the Chaplain one to instead be "Command" and all the command positions in my crusade bear the white on black.

Oh I use that graphic as guide for my BT... but I dont use white.   I use bleached bone variations:  white is so hard to keep clean on crusade, and age tarnishes the white proudly.   So the older the marine is, the darker the "field" is.

Well based on the reading I've done in various stories and novels, the paint on marines armor probably wouldn't last long enough to yellow with age. And more than likely the marine would repaint the armor after major engagements as part of his maintenance rituals.
