Hefty complicated conversions and tabletop legality

Recommended Posts

Ok so basically I have a number of plans in the works that will turn out as awesome as I can make them, BUT I am unsure as to whether it would be frowned upon to use them in actual games (let alone tournies which I am so not good enough player to consider yet).

Here are my projects in sort of list form so if you could comment on each one individually that would be great. (any input is good, even ideas with what to do for them :) )

Thunderhawk Gunship

Conversion from a GI Joe toy plane as the main frame of the scratchbuild. It lights up and makes noise too, as well as some moving parts that I intend to maintain within the model.

Landspeeder

Found a really random hotwheels car carrier thing that would be the perfect size for a different looking landspeeder. Doesnt make noise or anything special.

Baneblade

This thing is going to be a monster plain and simple. Acquired a remote controlled tank where EVERYTHING works as in:

1: Moving treads

2: Rotating Turret

3: Up and down gun barrel motion

4: Engine noises

5: Main barrel firing noise with recoil in the treads

6: Machine gun noises.

Yeah i plan on having a working Baneblade that can move itself on the table if desired. Trouble is the treads span an extra 12cm longer than the Baneblade model. Might be able to make them shorter, do not know until I get around to having a proper fiddle.

And lastly for my blood angels troops, I plan to make them female marines (fluff be damned) and the best heads (along with other bits) are kinda good in Warmachine and Infinity miniatures (if i am even allowed to mention those here lol). Would it be ok to use this bits as long as the majority of the models are GW?

If you want some pics of my ideas I can post them if required. Thanks for your input in advance :)

All of those bar the Female Marines would he excluded from both GW's and Tournaments and would/should be ok for friendlies with your mates. As for 3rd party heads on complete GW models, even GW seems to be A-Ok with it, a while back there was an Armies on Parade entry with Scouts with Pig Iron helmets on.

Cheers,

Jono

As for the tank, there already is a RC Land Raider somewhere on the net. Looking for that link a also found a (partial) tutorial for a RC Baneblade/Stormlord. That beast seem to be complete. That should give you the desired functionality without any issues in tournaments. Have fun with all the work, and post pictures msn-wink.gif
