30k treadheadism

Recommended Posts

Although some would say I'm playing the wrong legion to be a treadhead, I say neigh, I like my vehicles in midnight clad! But my question is this dear crew, assuming we stick to the normal force organisation chart (2hq, 3 elites, 6 troops, 3 fa, 3 hs, 1 low), how many tanks can we fit into an army? Not worrying about points or double up, just this to begin with.

I've got the idea its around, 21, having squadrons in 30k, thats 3x3 vehicles, 1 low tank, plus transports for hq, elites and troops. Anything I missed?

Well, the maximum I can think of, discounting RoW, would add a few to your tally...

HQ    x2                  -> 2 transports -> 2 tanks
Troop x6                  -> 6 transports -> 6 tanks
Elite x3 -> 9 techmarines -> 9 transports -> 9 tanks
Fast  x3                  -> 3 transports -> 3 tanks
Heavy x3                  -> 3 squadrons  -> 9 tanks
Low   x1 -> 2 LoWs w/ 8HP or less         -> 2 tanks
Total comes up to 31 tanks...

+ Edit :

If you take an Armoured Spearhead RoW, that means a possibble total of :

- 29 Land Raiders

- 2 Typhons

If you use the Age off Darkness FoC, you can add one HQ (+1 tank) and 1 Elite (+3 tanks) slots..

OR the old-fashioned - Darling, this helps me interact with the children and we both know how much havoc they cause when they're not busy with something... Besides this keeps me out of the way when you need the house for your friends (or in my case when she's crocheting/drawing) haha

or shrink to those lowly depths and go for the "would you rather I spend it on a few models which can be hidden away or on things that need a garage..."

I mean...if you if she's not THAT observant you could say that "but they've ALWAYS been there! What do you mean you've never seen them before?" :P

But knowing most other-halves they probably are..especially when it comes to a hobby we invest a lot of time into.
