Chaos Predator vs Obliterator Squad

With Fleshmetal and the Daemon trait giving Obliterators 2+/5++ and their tremendously useful array of weaponry combined with the fact that they possess 2 wounds apiece and can take MoN to avoid easy instant death... when (if ever) would you want to take a Chaos Predator instead of Obliterators?  Sure, the tank can output it's weapons every round while the Obliterators must alternate, but against heavy targets, I find that alternating between lascannons and plasma cannons is plenty effective.  Sure, a full squad of 3 Obliterators is a bit more costly than a Predator (especially with MoN), but Oblits can be taken singularly or in pairs as well if you're on a point budget.

The only major difference I can see is that the tank can be outfitted with dozer blades to breach cover and it can move a bit faster than the Obliterators... but Obliterators can arrive via Deep Strike and be pretty much wherever you want them to be.  The Obliterators are also incredibly unlikely to be taken out by a single shot (unless it's a S10 large blast) while the tank can easily be exploded by a single penetrating hit from a low-AP weapon.  So the question remains:  When would you ever take a Predator over an Obliterator squad?

Predators make me sad. Their jobs can be done more effectively by pretty much any other unit with the same role. If you give it sponsons, you cant use it to its full potential if you move. if you dont take sponsons, you are spending too many points on one weapon. If I had access to obliterators, I know what I would pick everytime.

The one predator load out I've been satisfied with so far is the plasma variant from FW. That one is awesome!

Predators are amazing. The list they excel in is the one which takes other vehicles. Take a Land Raider, Predator with lascannon sponsons and autocannon and a Forgefiend, then a couple Maulerfiends, maybe a Dreadnought...

Armour saturation for cheap.
