Hello all,

So i just started playing imperial guard, as most will know from a previous post i started a week ago. I decided to start a new one because i'm not only going to show what the first of the 88TH looks like from the beginning but i'm also going to make this my vow post for the ETL going on now. I hope i'm not to late to a make a small difference against the other armies. It may not seem like much but i hope it helps.

I Spaniard vow to paint 490 points worth of imperial guard with the list including the following:

First Platoon - 335

Platoon Command Squad - vox caster, plasma gun, medi pack, and platoon standards with chimera transport

1st squad - vox caster, flamer

2nd squad -  vox caster, flamer

Heavy weapons team - 3 auto cannons

First armored squadron - 155

Leman Russ with Vanquisher cannon and muti melta sponsons, heavy bolter

Here is a link to the first part of my army, ignore the descriptions i had titled them what i will playing them as for a small match i have going on tomorrow. Please let me know if i did this the right way i don't want to break the forum rules, i will edit if i have to so i may keep the post going.

It's a once a year event, there's no guarantees it'll come again of course but I think it's a safe bet ;) Either way it's far enough away for you not to need worry about it, so keep on working on your army and most important of all keep us updated on it :D

If you want to put a photo from your gallery straight into a post go to the picture's page and click "Options" in the top right. It's one of the big red buttons you can't miss it, then select "Share links" at the bottom of the pop up menu. You'll be presented with choices of how you want to use the link, the top one can be copied and pasted straight into your post for a picture with a link to the source smile.png

For example:

Let me know if you need any more help.

A fledgling Guardsmen army! Nice work and I am a tad envious of the journey you are starting, but I have enough armies as it is. I'm a fan of Autocannons so that HWT looks awesome, ready to batter the enemies of the Emperor. Any chance of a colour scheme picture? I assuming they will be red but I'd like to see!

That's a good colour scheme, I like it :) Have you given the fatigues a wash? That's always a great way to add definition with little effort on Guardsmen. As far as I'm aware there isn't a way to change the image dimensions when posting them, so it's best to do it in an image editing program before uploading. Smaller files are kinder on people's internet too.

I like it! Definitely get a few washes on it to make it pop and work on the base too. That will really help the model look great. Perhaps Carroberg Crimson Shade for the Red and Drakenhof Nightshade for the grey? Oh and Reikland Fleshshade for the fleshy parts and Nuln Oil the Lasgun to the Warp and back.

The picture is fine, but it may be an issue if you post up quite a few in a single topic :) I agree with Arkaniss on the washes, give them a test and see what you think. When in doubt Nuln Oil and Agrax Earthshade are always washes to consider :P

I like Nuln Oil a good wash for darkening things but it's not quite a "catch all" colour like Agrax is. I think on your grey it could work nicely, but the Drakenhof Nightshade Arkaniss recommends might be better. It depends on what colour you want your fatigues to look at the end, you could always test it on the legs for example and repaint if you don't like it?

Nuln Oil is great for metallics though such as the Lasguns. I use Agrax on tank tracks to give them a slightly dirtier/machine part look compared to Nuln smile.png
