Ultramarines. The next quest up the plastic mountain

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone.

This week's project is some Ultramarines. Doing these for a friend at a local club here in Wales and following a tutorial http://thetwelveolympians.co.uk/painting/tutorials/ultramarines-blue

I have made some changes, preshading with a wash made from black and Vallejo glaze medium and pin washing with nuln oil and lahmian medium 50:50 mix instead of oils. These are very fun to paint.

And the next few ready to face the airbrush

What do you guys think?

Thanks for the comments everyone they are really good motivation.

@UltraRich: The pictures are a bit washed out these new pictures are a little better but I know what you mean. Beyond edge highlighting I'm not sure how to up the contrast on them because I'm loving the tone of blue they are now. Your Ultramarines are awesome by the way.

And updates! Bolters, eyes, and other details done may add some more chipping certainly redo one of the shoulder pads. Then on to other 5 and bases.
