march10k
I can take two Wyverns for that, which'll do the job so much better. I can't help but feel I won't need something to move up the field that aggressively that can't already Deep Strike or won't fit in a Vendetta. True, but then there's the slots. One is Fast Attack, the other is Heavy support. I find it redundant to compare units from different slot choices, even if they perform the same task. Bringing a Valk with MRP's means bringing decent Anti-infantry weapons, with transport capacity, and mobility while still allowing me to load up on Lemans! Lemans...wouldn't those also come under the heading of anti-infantry? Other than the vanquisher, that is. Kontakt
Since I play mostly MT, I'm convinced I will mostly use the rocket pods. However, thanks to march10k, I believe the standard loadout might not be a bad idea either. Seahawk
If they are C:TS Valkyries, then I always include the heavy bolters at 10 pts. Use for fire support first, transport second. If they are C:AM Valkyries, then I never include the heavy bolters. Use for transport first, fire support second. march10k
I like that philosophy! /edit/ It is soooo weird that the heavy bolters cost twice as much in the codex that needs them less! Given you could still fit 12 Russes into a list with a Wyvern using up a slot, as well as the current madness that is CADs, I don't think you can say it doesn't matter because of the slots used.
