Converting meltagun Wolf Scout - How to?

Hello!

The title says much of what I'm after. I have seen a few conversions where a Wolf Scout is wielding a meltagun instead of a shotgun/sniper rifle/boltgun and was wondering whether anyone had any tips (ie. which arms are the best for the conversion, how to keep all of the left-hand fingers but remove the gun, etc).

Any such help is much appreciated :)

Cheers,

Ludo

I used a Boltgun-holding right arm.  The left arm will need to be worked out mid process to ensure it all lines up properly.  IIRC it was one of the Shotgun left arms that fit with the meltagun I used:

Step 1 - Remove the right hand, carefully, from the Boltgun.

Step 2 - Carefully cut 2 lines vertically up the Boltgun, one either side of the left hand, yes this means ruining the Boltgun.

Step 3 - Cut horizontally between the fingers and thumb of the clasped left hand.

Step 4 - Partially cut down the palmar side of the fingers until the cut reaches the level of the palm itself.

Step 5 - Make a diagonal cut in order to remove the wedge of plastic next to the fingers.

Step 6 + 7 - repeat steps 4 + 5 but for the thumb.

Step 8 - Carefully cut away any excess plastic and, using a small round file, clean up the palm.

Step 9 - Dry fit the meltagun into the palm, it'll probably be too big, so you may have to bend the fingers outwards.  They should be nice and thin, so this isn't difficult (although not breaking them off is).

Step 10 - Assembly - right arm, left arm, gun, left hand.  In that order.  A little filling with green stuff if the fit isn't perfect to finish.

End result (bottom left):
