They routed the enemies of man, and fought to reunite humanity all under one banner, the first of these sons was morpheus, who would champion the extinction of the eldar, the ones who scattered him and his siblings from their father. fox2013 Posted December 2, 2014 Author Share Posted December 2, 2014 THE FIRST BATTLE AND RENAMING OF THE THE 9TH LEGION It was the beginning of the 29th millennium, when the emperor found morpheus, and reunited him with his gene-sons. Now comes the proving, and they shall be tested in the fires of war. (THE ELDAR PURGES, m30 12) The newly discovered primarch stood aboard his personal vessel, the black abyss. He was coming upon the eldar craft worlds, the very ones who caused the scattering of his him and his brothers. He looked upon the young looking faces and shiny armor of his "sons"(he may get use to the term eventually) Morpheus: my sons. all of you were made from me, all of you have been fighting for humanity while i grew into an adult. And now you've found me, and expect me to lead you. Why? A marine walked up, he was the legion master by the name of dante. He stood tall before his father and spoke." You are our father, without you we wouldn't exist. You visited each of us in our dreams throughout our journey, empowering us with your strength and kindness." he said, then knelt. Morpheus their primarch and father looked down at dante, and smirked a bit. Then he laughed. When he finished, he bid dante to rise and said this. Morpheus: you should follow me because you want to, not because your genes tell you to, but if you truly wished to fight alongside me, then come and i'll show you the reason we are here. Morpheus pointed at an eldar craft-world, his first son he had made,kwylo growled in rage at the world. Morpheus calmed and spoke to his legion, he told them of what this craft world is, and why he's targeting them. The knowledge that these eldar are the reason their father and his brothers were taken from them, filled them with rage. Morpheus held his hand up, and called for silence before speaking. Morpheus: my legion, you shall earn your name from me in the fires of battle, i want this craft world to BURN! FORWARD! At that command, the legion's ship landed and thousands marines of the 9th, descended on the eldar. The world burned in witch fire, from both sides, bolters and chainswords could be heard carving through flesh, bone, and steel. They fought through sword and flame, their visors giving their eyes an unholy glow to the marines, making them seem more akin to demons. They killed and burned till not a single eldar was left on that world. At the end of the war, they all gathered before their primarch, their dead and dying being carried to him. It will be here that they would gain the name that would make them respected and feared in equal measure. Morpheus: you fought well all of you, the eldar scum of this world are dead, and it's now a burning corpse. And now i shall gift you with your name. We are forged through fire, gilded by blood, we march through hell as men, and emerge as demons. And so it shall be, RISE MY GILDED DEMONS! As one the newly christened gilded demon legion rose, and howled victory that day. Though it would not all be happy, for when he chose kwylo to be his equerry, dante felt a seed of doubt, which would later come to bloom millennium later, when he takes his paths to being the demon emperor.
