Thanks Slave - Yes, this is my third Space Wolves force. I started 13th Company back in the Eye of Terror campaign days, then started a small Space Wolves force which I believe I had a log on this forum in 2008?

I started this current force - Morkai Great Company in 2009 with the codex release & took the Wolves to a lot of events from Throne of Skulls to local events. A small amount of my Wolves army where feature on the Games Workshop web site back in 2012 when I was there for a double event.

Since then, the current updated Marine kits & now the new Wulfen book give me finial push to go back & add a lot more to the force. I want to have it Company strength & finial get a model base on my Lord build.

George Dellapina Space Wolves force from the 4th ed rule book been one of the main reason I've collected Wolves. Along side Wolves allow conversion, background really cool & there great fun using them in games, all these are important & why I pick any army :D

I've also got Ravenwing (second army, as last one was collected in 2005) as well, that will also get a lot cool new models added in the future.

Just Chaos is always my favrout faction, with Iron Warriors been my favrout Legion.

So after trying to get my Space Wolves back up & running, I got a little bit knock off track.  But now everything sorted, it now time to push forward with the Space Wolves, always adding to my Iron Warriors & pushing forward with a lot of other hobby related project.

 

So I think last time I shown the Wolf Guard Battle Leader I'd added to my force, just because the new Deathwatch model from the box game look really cool.  I also though it would be a nice theme for the Wolf Guard Battle Leader been sent to the Deathwatch to gain experince to help him become part of the higher chain of command in my Great Company.

 

I also got the Beastman shield added to him, part this to also help theme the era just as he was pick by the Wolf Priest to one day become the legend Battle Brother who battle in the All Father name

While thing have been a little busy.  I have spent the past few week trying to paint a brand new unit of Bloodclaws for the Iron Wolves formastion I'm wanting to run with my force as it always been Mech heavy.

So right now I still need to get

 

- First unit of Bloodclaws shown there, finish.  I just need to double check my army list as I think there a few more Battle Brother & a Wolf Guard to led them into battle.  The above models for the first unit Bloodclaws should hopeful be fully painted during next week.  Just right now this week been pretty chaotic with work about to happen to the house & all focuse is on the ETL & complete painting a Black Legion force for a friend to use that a local tournament this weekend

- Second unit of Bloodclaws to get built & painted.

- Transport for both those units & my Long Fangs.

 

So I want to try get that lot done during September & want to try pick up a few of the Forge World doors for those tanks.  As well as have a look that the Horus Heresy armour & pads that where release for the Wolves a month or so ago.

 

I'm going to add some allies to my Space Wolves as well.  Saturday saw Deathwatch hitting the 40k scene.  So I'm aim to build up a force (third one) that will ally with my Wolves in games as well as been a stand alone force.  So hopeful start included the Deathwatch in this army log as well.

Just a quick question in regards to your varnish. Do you still use Citadel Gloss Varnish, followed by teslors dullcoat? Is that your preferred method for varnishing models?

Or am I confused?

For varnish models.  I just use the standard Games Workshop purity seal varnish.  Then only add gloss varnish to parts, say like the lens or that scope on the bolter or auspex screen.

 

I'm really looking forward collecting Deathwatch again, this was a small force I done for Conflict Scotland 2008 go along side my friend Blood Angels force.  I think I had a small army log on them as well.

I just like trying to have each model tell there own story :D  Like the Wolf Guard there serve as part of the Deathwatch & with the model been really cool :D  Everyone as hero in there own right, with year & year of experience.  This is why converting models is way more important to me & why I can careless/general find it boring what ever the current internet list is - Warp spider spam one kicking about right now.  Just building & painting models I think look cool & enjoy building, gain there theme though all the really great games against friends & events like Throne of Skulls.

 

Yes I saw your army log yesterday & it really great seen that you've included the 2nd ed era Long Fangs with some current era bitz for the Heavy Weapons.

Quick update

 

So pretty much spent today hidding away while heat wave was happing.  As said a few time, I can not tolerate the heat as this cause me to get headache &/or nose bleeds.  So today pretty much been spent hiding & making sure all the fan's & air con where on the go in the house & spend bit time get hobby done.

 

Just got to varnish the Bloodclaws & add Blood for the blood god as well as a few chip/battle damage.  I've just got another 3 Blood Claws to model & a Wolf Guard to led them, as well as Rhino transport.

So I spent the first part of today, building the Deathwatch models.  These models are really great & fun to build.  So they will be a ally force to my Space Wolves as well as a stand alone army as end of the day the models are just really cool.  There, Space Wolf, Flesh Tearer, Salamander, Iron Hand & Ultramarine.

 

So background wise, while they are battle along side my Space Wolves, they still have there own goal & mission.  But both force are missing the bigger picture if it true about the 13th Black Crusade happing rumor permitting?

Always like the Deathwatch since the Index Astarties article & any time I've made a unit.  For some reason I've always added a Space Wolf Battle Brother inspired by this art work.  Also need to get around to model a Ultramarine w/Heavy Bolter that some point.

So here the current version.  Going have theme between him & the Flesh Tearer where both veteran of the Honour End background & that first how they'd always be fighting.  But since been part Deathwatch Kill team, have let the past be the past & became a unstoppable force.  Wolf act as the scout of the unit, the Flesh Tearer for combat, Salamander & Iron Hand for support fire & Ultramarine to guide them & "try" to make them see the codex astarties way.

Update

 

It been a little bit busy over the past since the last update & I've put the Wolves on hold until I had a bit more time, which is pretty much now :D

 

Just things like, last week saw a lot of work happen to my home.  So this just meant all my models, pretty much everything had to be put into boxes & into storage.

Hobby wise I've been really busy with my Iron Warriors force.  In September saw a few new unit been added for the Throne of Skulls event & while I've been to a lot of great events.  Throne of Skulls Sept was by far the best event I've ever been to with greatness games I've had.  Then stay for a extra day in Nottingham to get a game against my friend & spend my birthday that Warhammer World

Then after that, it was adding more to my Iron Warriors for my gaming club tournament.  With the release of the new Traitor Hate book.

With thing settle down & have yesterday & today off.  I've been trying to clear some of the hobby back log.  So today was getting the four Bloodclaw models varnish.  So I just need to add chip/battle damage & Blood for the Blood god to the models.

Here the next Razorback for my second unit of Long Fangs.  I prefer buying the Predator models as the turret look a lot better & fit better in my view as well as a nod toward the 2nd ed Metal upgrade part for the Razorback tank.

I've just got to

• Add battle damage around the hull
• Paint the rivits
• Paint the Long Fang pack marking onto the crew member of the Razorback, as well as add the pack marking onto the Razorback it self
• Paint campaign mark, see the photo just above with the Grey Hunter razorback with the red arrow with the viking rune which is part of my theme/background/campaign marking for the whole Great Company

Then it just add Forge World weather powder.

 

Then this one was last week?  It the second Razorback for my second unit of Long Fangs.  Then I'm going to build the Imperial Marine I got back in April to my Wolves force.

Then this is the lot I bought today.  This is for my second unit of Bloodclaws, so I'm almost there for my Iron Wolves formation.  This unit, along side with the Wolf Guard for the first unit Bloodclaws, are all going to be built next Sunday during my day off.  But I think it will not be until the holidays until I get both unit of Bloodclaws transport (Rhinos) bought, built & painted.

@ Midnight - They are from the chimera kit if memory serves. Or there is a tank upgrade sprue in the Imperial Guard line that can be bought separately I think.

Sorry Midnight I though I replied to this. The dozerblade are from a upgrade spure that was with the Leman Russ in the last ed, before they spure got updated & the problem track got fix, it also has the extra armour plate & fule drum's.

So just as I was hoping push forward with the Space Wolves with the Razorback & second unit of Bloodclaws. I ended up becoming really badly ill, in fact it was during the last update during that time I went from bad to worst. It led to me been ill for two weeks & not been able to get anything done other than sit & watch TV (for all those channel, there so much rubbish ). It was pretty frustrating as I missed out on a local tournament for charity as well.

Then once thing where ok. All my focuse on the hobby was to complete my vows for the really great & fun event Call of Chaos. You can find my complete vows on my Iron Warrior army log

So my holidays started yesterday, Friday where I've got about two & a half weeks off. During this time, beside enjoy Christmas I want to try get as much done, the first week mostly try get as much my own space as well.

So hobby wise with a sort of gap. I though I would make this push to get those units I've said I'd add, added & painted. When it come to building models, that take me the longest to be honesty, but as soon as the models are undercaoted, painting is never a issue.

In fact I just spent today getting the first Long Fang Razorback painted. There few parts still finish & few Viking Rune to paint. But for now I'm really happy how the Razorback turn out. So just need to vanish & weather powder the model.

Then as said during this week I'm wanting to try get as much done for the Wolves. So today while that my local Warhammer store. Bought these two Rhinos for my Bloodclaws. While the tactical marine box set to help with parts toward the second unit of Bloodclaws........& I think I've also still build a Wolf Guard for the first unit I shown a while back. I'm temp to try model some of them as Deathwatch Veteran & useing the Thunder Hammer left over from the Deathwatch kits as they just look cool & somthing a Space Wolf would "borrow" after there time with the Xenos Order.

The first week off my holidays has went be way to fast.  But I've mange to spend Tuesday & a bit of today getting new Space Wolves models built.  I am aim for tomorrow for painting

 

My "count as" Bjorn, the ex-Wolf Lord/part of my Wolves Great Company council.  So tomorrow get them painted & then it just blood for the blood god that need to get added once the model varnish.

Really happy how both Wolf Guards turn out.  Just add Blood for the blood god to them & the Bloodclaw units.
