I'm building up psychic choir for my sallies, running from lexicanium up to ven dreadniought epistolary. I've read the Tomb of Fire books but can't remember reading a good description of how sallie librarians look.

Wondering if any of you wonder guys/gals round here could help me with a question.

Question:

Do Sallie librarians follow standard codex practises for their amrour colour? E.g. Blue w/left shoulder guard in chapter colour. Or do they have some unique scheme similar to their apothecarys?

Many Thanks

Baz

There are only a handful of depictions of Salamanders Librarians that I know of (Codex: Armageddon, Index Astartes and the Tome of Fire series). The cover of the third "Tome of Fire" book ("Nocturne") features a Librarian (most likely Dak'ir due to his wargear) in the typical all-blue, while the specific topic on Librarians within the Index Astartes features Librarians from four different chapters and of them the Salamanders example is shown wearing the inverse chapter green with only the right arm, shoulder and helmet in blue.

So, ultimately it's down to personal preference. The Salamanders don't typically differentiate their veterans/specialist's armour bar honour markings, unlike say the Ultramarines or Blood Angels, so that could be interpreted as them wearing mostly chapter colours with the specific coloured helmets and shoulder motif or, due to their noted pragmatism; they could wear solely their specialist colour to better distinguish themselves on the battlefield.

Not the best of my models, I'm afraid, and it's been repainted over the years too - but it's a good proof of concept for what I wanted:

Dark blue with markedly lighter blue highlights, plus a green shoulder pad. Go in full with the 'blue flame' motif too.

Went with the right arm blue / blue helmet route (ok the model I have painted doesn't wear one). In addition to painting this test model also started assembling a psykic choir. started with a Dreadnought librarian, and a old Codicer model I've done a small conversion on. Interested to hear your thoughts.
