Brother Galfridus
Hi everyone, here is my latest finished squad. These guys were a lot of fun to paint and I'm currently working on a How To video for them. Onto the pictures! http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c338/brushknights/group6copy_zpscf54a3df.jpg http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c338/brushknights/groupbackcopy_zps0f75dbfa.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/295862-grey-knight-interceptor-squad/ Share on other sites
Sad
Are the backpacks unfinished or are they meant to look like that? Otherwise nice! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/295862-grey-knight-interceptor-squad/#findComment-3791822 Share on other sites
Firepower
Yeah, I think you went overboard on the glowing of the backpacks. The light silver means it's easy for the blue OSL to become overwhelming and wash out the base color. Aside from painting it on in more narrow fields, you might want to consider some detail painting first. For instance, the wires running along the pack, if painted a different color than silver prior to OSL, would add some valuable contrast. The fact that the blue OSL doesn't touch the rest of the model's back also makes them stand out as 'wrong.' Glowing that intensely, the blue would also reflect off the back of their heads and shoulders, for instance. I'd consider a different base than slab gray, too. Silver on gray equals 0 'pop.' Aside from all that, they're pretty solid paint jobs. Very clean and sleek. Just my two bits. Brother Galfridus
Cheers for the comments guys. Any changes like that will have to be done by the client as they are now on their way to them. I should have said the scheme isn't for my own armies. EDIT: The video is now also finished http://youtu.be/NqCqes6fjgE Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/295862-grey-knight-interceptor-squad/#findComment-3791923 Share on other sites
appiah4
http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c338/brushknights/groupbackcopy_zps0f75dbfa.jpg I can see what you tried to go for here but it didn't quite work out.. You whould probably have added some metallics to your highlights; the backpacks unfortunately look like they are plastic attachments to the metallic armor. jeremy1391
The effect I think works, however I'd make the main part of the telepacks a silver to match the rest of the mini and leave the little warp vanes gooey light blue. Grimm Blade
Nice work on the metals. Did you use an airbrush? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/295862-grey-knight-interceptor-squad/#findComment-3802863 Share on other sites
