Next month, brother. BA are set for December.

Rumours are that we’ll see spoilers soon for ETA of the supplement on Dec. 6th, but nothing has been confirmed. Could be that Death Guard get their codex first, no one knows.

Has anyone attempted to use Death Company Intercessors?

With an extra base attack, and only assault intercessors getting fight again, (which DC versions may or may not gain access to in our supplament) and the removal of the SoS, so a 6+++ is the best you can get, DC intercessors with the newly buffed chainswords might be worth looking at?

I feel that normal DC are heavily outshone by SG, as you get a 2+ armor and a master crafted power weapon and the same # of attacks for 5 extra points, but DC assault intercessors get a whopping 6 attacks EACH the turn they charge, 7 if Savage Echoes is triggered through either strats, priests, or turn 3+.

A 50% damage bonus compared to regular assault intercessors and a native 6+++ for 5 pts is maybe good enough to lose obsec?

Was thinking of 9 in a repulsor as a hammer unit in an otherwise armor heavy list.

I'm looking forward to throwing this unit at enemy chaff and attempting a multi assault. the issue is how this unit is supported via buffs and what we choose for a target.

I can see this unit wiping out nearly 60 Ork boys with a tight multi charge under the right conditions, between what's killed and what runs away. I think I'm still adjusting because under 8th morale for the Orks would be devastating even with Mob rule with LD 30. which would have to be mitigated through shooting and more assaults. Or clearing conscript blobs standing just too close together.

I'm also wondering if this unit can shred a Knight with weight of dice and the assault doctrine.

Also due the the high number of attacks I almost wonder if just having a small squad of 5 to 7 would be sufficient for an all comers list, where 10 may actually be just too many points spent. Haven't looked at the points or made a list to stick them in yet.

and then there's the issue of delivering them into close combat but that may not be a big problem on the new smaller tables.

I don't know that they need obsec for what they do. I think they need to open a whole in the enemy lines and possibly drag enemy models off of objectives or create chaos an clog things up for the other player. A joint unit operations kind of thing.

For completely unscientific reasons (that may or may not involve listening to the winds and reading entrails...) I think Death Guard Codex comes first and the BA Supplement will be the bottom half of December.

Green and Red for Christmas Sanguinala   GW Marketing department having some fun.

I mean, I feel like they either changed a couple of things or mixed them up?

Wasn’t it that the red thirst got you landed in the tower and the black rage beheaded?

And didn’t the red thirst start before Sanguinius even found them when they were the Eaters is the Dead and the Revenant Legion?

This is also what I've remembered of the lore, smells like a retcon.

was anyone else expecting to see some details for us on the preview today?

Yeah, however they'll probably just do it via regular WarCom articles. If we don't hear anything tomorrow, we should be worried that DG might get their codex before us and that BA are only due a week before Sanguinala.

I guess this means no new models for us, which is not entirely surprising. Ah well, I am busy converting myself up a new Biker Captain. I am also doing a new Sanguinary Priest since I am still running the old 3rd ed Jump Apthocary model at the moment and I feel in need of something a bit more commanding.

I'll let you off if it has a Goblin Green base.

I would put money down that DG are getting their Codex before us. Our stuff always seems to come out right around Sanguinalia, so it’s best to set that as normal for expectations and anything different is surprise.

They usually do a couple previews for each new release, some on crunch some on fluff, etc... so I wouldn’t worry too much. I’m sure they’ll have more previews for the BA supplement including one focusing on Crusade stuff, since that is the fashion this season.

The codex goes up for preorder next week, along with Assault Intercessors and the Gladiator. Interestingly, it looks like we’re getting some new rules through ‘Death Visions’.

Early thoughts and wild speculation... death visions could be a way of tracking a unit or character succumbing to the red thirst and/or black rage.

DV really could be anything, however the preview of the cards indicates that they’re related to DC/Black Rage. Which appears to me that GW are overly focused on DC instead of the general angelic/nobility theme of the Blood Angels. Probably it’s because DC are the only unit that has a primaris equivalent in the supplement.

We’ll probably know more on Tuesday.
