Tzen
This is the captain I painted from the Indomitus set. I still need to fix the energy effects on the sword and shield. but pretty happy with him. http://www.golden-throne.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/indomcap2.jpg http://www.golden-throne.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/indomcap1.jpg http://www.golden-throne.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/indomcap3.jpg Amazing model! Bjorn Firewalker
Excellent work. Is the skeleton on his shield meant to be a decorative and sculpted facade, or are they meant to be actual bones- maybe an Imperial saint's remains, granting the CAPT an Invulnerable Save against enemy psychic attacks? Tzen
I think it can be either. My feeling is that it is actually meant to be a relic of the chapter. As it is a space marine skeleton. It has the power armour input plugs all over it. noigrim
Space marine skeletons have a black carapace instead of a conventiobal ribcage plus the RELIC shield was described in warhammer community as holding the bones of an imperial saint Bjorn Firewalker 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/297484-tzens-ultramarines/page/9/#findComment-5571877 Share on other sites
Tzen
I have painted up the new Uriel Ventris model. http://www.golden-throne.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/uriel1.jpg http://www.golden-throne.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/uriel2.jpg This is an odd model. I am not saying it is bad, because that isn't true, and wouldn't be fair. But it just seems like an "odd riff" on a Primaris marine. The shoes are a bit squared off, and the gold trim is pretty unique for a loyalist marine (that memory serves). Again, it isn't bad, just different. Bjorn Firewalker
Excellent work on the model, but IIRC, Ventris lost an eye in Graham McNeill's The Chapter's Due. Inquisitor lorr
I understand what you mean about it being an ‘odd model’.I don’t dislike the head, but I do think it would be much better served with a suitably ornate helmet. I actually quite like the trim and the fact that not many loyalists have that. Great paint job. You’ve nailed the greens! Is your blue recipe the GW recipe? Tzen
It's been quite a while since I painted anything for my Ultramarines, and playing Space Marine 2 inspired me to get one done!
