Pigshead Posted March 25, 2015 Author Share Posted March 25, 2015 Ok, so I ran out of sepia wash, and I get married on Friday , so I can't really finish what I promised, which is a Wyvern WITH a squat crew.... but the wyvern is finished, just not the crew, so tomorrow I'm gonna post a pic of the Wyvern, then a few group shots, and then probably disappear from the forums for a week or two while I readjust to married life. Luckily, my wife to be is extraordinarily accepting of my inner geek, and she actually thinks this whole 40k obsession I have is "cute", so I don't see marriage affecting my hobby too much. Pigshead Posted March 31, 2015 Author Share Posted March 31, 2015 Well it was an excellent day, much fun was had by all, but now back to the important task of all things Squat!The Wyvern should be finished this week, just a final touch to the wyvern crew which should be tomorrow, and then the group shot. Had three 750 point games this evening. First against Crimson Slaughter, was going really well, Pask chewed up a rhino and then it's possessed crew. Following up with getting immobilized, then being stuck out of range of everything. Before a last minute objective grab by a forgefiend brought Pask a target which he then failed to finish off. Before the same forgefiend charged my remaining infantry and then ran them down, winning the game for Chaos. But the second game saw him get some sort of proxy vengeance, as he killed a razorback, 7 bikers, 2 assault marines and a Chaplain, making my opponent to concede on turn 4! Yay! And then I finished the evening by getting totally overwhelmed by orks.... it was a massacre.... need flamers.....must go out and by new models with flamers.... You've done a good job with the Mantic Dwarves as well, I'm not a fan of the sculpt but you've made them work. I like the characterful things like the Squat perusing the manual as well. I only just started thinking about having some Squats around when I ran across an old White Dwarf #300... and read about the White Dwarf! Given that I'm mostly looking at an offshoot of the Wolf Brothers (Long story and obscure lore), having them with the embodiment of the spirit of the dwarves (squats) made me giggle... the 1+ armour save helped too... But the demands of the Dark Angels 3rd Company, my other marine army, and a weird experiment with Tyranids have taken my attention away from my beloved Zhufbarians. I aim to rectify that soon. I've got another Leman Russ done, and another in the pipeline, and then it's on to some bigger guns... Once I've decided which to go for, of course...
