helterskelter
To my understanding to get a decent game in you need about 2000pts, plus I need something to gear my collection towards, so all c+c welcome! HQ Legion Champion- cataphractii, mc chainglaive, charger Elites Apothecarion detachment - 2 models Terror squad - +5 executioners, chainglaive, 10 chargers Terror squad - +5 executioners, chainglaive, 10 chargers Troops Tactical squad - +10 marines, combi weapon, chainglaive, vexilla Assault squad - +10 marines, pair lightning claws Fast Attack Legion Attack bike squadron - 4 multimeltas skyhunter jetbikes - squad meltabombs (3), multimelta, sergeant, chainglaive Heavy Support Sicaran Battle tank - lascannon sponsons Comes in at 8 points under, 63 on foot, 4 bikes, 3 jetbikes, 1 tank. When they become available will chuck in sevatar or curze in higher pointed matches. But for now not worried about including them, list revised, should be a bit more aggressive and has a better chance at dealing with armour. Balthamal
Ok from a "I like the look of the models and the army fits my theme" point of view it's fine. From a "this will actually do something against a few armies" perspective, it needs plenty of work. I'd swap out the Praetor for a Legion Champion firstly, it's only really worth taking one if you're going to use a RoW. Instead of a command squad take a regular Terminator Squad so you have the heavy weapon options as well. They'll also need a ride if you want them to be mobile which in the case of Terminators means Land Raiders. 12" at best per turn isn't going to see them wracking up much mileage through the course of a game. I'd drop the Moritat, I've never found them very points effective for what they bring to the table. Depending on what you plan to include elsewhere, Forge Lords, Masters of Signal and Primus Medicae are all solid choices. The blocks of troops are nice and solid but give the Tactical squad a Vexilla, you really can't afford to have them running away. For the Terror Squad, equip them with Volkite Chargers. Rotar Cannon's don't do much and Volkites with Deflagrate and add in Preferred Enemy Infantry and you're looking at a really nasty unit. Destroyers aren't too bad, I quite like them but on balance I'd probably opt for another Terror Squad. They have never had trouble making back their points for me even against 40k armies so I'm a fan. The Sicaran is a good choice but I'd recommend the Venator variant. The list suffers from a chronic lack of heavy firepower plus the weapon doesn't suffer against Armoured Ceramite which you'll probably see a lot of around. Alternatives would be the Scorpius Whirlwind or if you really wanted to push the boat out Fire Raptors are excellent Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/298183-first-shot-at-list-building-2000pts-night-lords/#findComment-3839004 Share on other sites
helterskelter
Cheers for the feedback! I'm a bit too fond of the sicaran to let it go, but the rest of your suggestions I like. I'll have a tweak and edit the list, thanks again Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/298183-first-shot-at-list-building-2000pts-night-lords/#findComment-3839152 Share on other sites
