Ludovic paints an Ultramarine (or perhaps two...?)

I needed to scratch a painting itch and so broke out my paints, brushes and got the show on the road. He's not finished (missing boltgun, Tactical arrow, etc) but I'm rather pleased with the results so far. Edge highlights were a pain in the arse to do after such a long hiatus away from painting though.

Anyway, pictures!

Looking good

I know the feeling about the painting break.

I need to get back on it again but cant get the motivation. Hopefully the dark nights will help

Are you going classic red for the bolter?

Alan: Thanks mate! And will do ;)

UltraRich: Thanks! Your UM's are always an inspiration, so I look forward to see an update. I wasn't planning on going with red boltguns, but I might. No promises though ;)

DarkRage: Many thanks for the kind words :)

dss7: Thanks! :tu:

Anaziel: Thank you! I didn't really think about it much, to be honest. I think it was just because I couldn't be bothered to paint them another colour and I was using red for the purity seals at the time :P

PLASTICHEAD: You are too kind, good sir. The pictures are actually rather forgiving, hence the apparently clean lines. They're not so clean in real life, to my great anguish. Ah well, I'll live with it :P

I disagree Ludavic. I do agree sometimes a wonky camera shot can help colours blend together, but I think when it comes to crisp lines, its easy to tell when they are dodgy. These are not dodgy. Quite the opposite in fact.

kizzdougs: Many thanks, mate :) The eyes were a bit of an experiment, so I'm glad people like the end result.

forte: Exactly :P thanks!

MagicMan: Cheers mate! And yeah, there should be more coming along soon.

PLASTICHEAD: I'll have a look and see what I can do to increase the amount of silver to break up the blue a bit. Thanks for the feedback!

Arkhan: Wow, thank you :) Your Space Marines are always an inspiration, so I'm glad and honoured if mine can serve the same purpose.

Midnight Runner: Thank you! The gold was also a bit of an experiment that turned out well. Still not sure about the red casings, but I'll paint up a test boltgun and see how it looks!

Toxichobbit: Woops :P More seriously, there's just something about gold and blue that I love and can't shake off. Ah well, I'll live with it ;)

Dorns_fist: Thanks mate!

Psy-Crow: Thanks for the praise! I'm still skeptical, but then again my point of comparison is 'Eavy Metal and the like when it comes to edge highlights, so you might understand how I feel when I look at my own models!

BFeeder: Thank you! And that makes two of us :)

furioso-prime: Thanks! For the lenses, I'll try and remember to make a mini-tutorial when I paint up the next Ultramarine!
