The Quintos - A Crimson Slaughter Warband

That's one very nice Warband you have there, I'm loving your converted bike squad.

Would it to be too cheeky to ask if you have a photo of the whole warband together?

Going to get the Noise Marines, Havoc Squad, Warp Talon squad and the melee Chosen painted and then aiming to do a group photo at that stage, along with the daemon models used for Zala'zarr's summoning rituals.

 

After that, next items will be a Thousand Sons squad, a Plague Marine squad, Plague Zombies and then a Khorne R&H detachment

 

..... after typing this I've realised just how fast my warband is growing!

Zekiel, apprentice to Zala'zarr of the Quintos, who has recently managed to gather a group of true Thousand Sons to his banner. This troubles Fulcus, the Lord of the Quintos who worries about Zala'zarr' growing strength

Zekiel's skills lie in commanding Tzeentchian Fire in burning out the foes of the Quintos, and aiding his master Zala'zarr summon daemons onto the battlefield

Another disciple of Zala'zarr is a corrupted Librarian, rumoured to be one of the Dark Angel successor chapters but Zala'zarr is very tight lipped about where he came from.

Only known as Nergal, he tends the relics of the Quintos, rarely seeing the battlefield unless there is a great need for additional sorcerous might.

 

 

The daemons of the Quintos, summoned to the field by their prophet, Zala'zarr are a powerful addition to the Quintos and greatly valued.

The Thousand Sons in the Quintos are resurrected Rubicae, taking the helms which still contained fragments of the soul of the Rubicae and pulling back from the Warp, forcing them back into the service of the Quintos.

The Quintos has been lucky enough to be able purchase two daemon engines within the Bizarre, though due to the lack of resources with the Lost Hope, they are constructed from a higher mix of flesh and bone rather than pure metal. This unholy fusion means that the Quintos will undoubtedly have to procure the services of a Warpsmith sooner rather than later to keep these in check.

Like most Chaos Warbands, the Quintos has it's share of mutational failures, these Chaos Spawn are still valuable to the warband, kept trapped in special holding pens in the centre of the Bizarre. Occasionally they break lose and give the warriors of the Quintos some sport, tracking them down.

For this model, I tried a different painting technique, building up the colours in layers to get an overall effect on the flesh.

Warpsmith Varosh has been recruited by Sergeant Fulcus at the behest of his chief tactician, to manage the Heldrakes and Helbrutes within the force. The hybrids of flesh, machine and daemon that the Quintos are using to broaden their tactical advantages in their raids.

The Warpsmith favours his pistol in combat rather than his Power Axe, as well as the cutting tools and cauterising impliments that his mechandendrites offer.

Since adding Warpsmith Varosh, the Quintos have been able to add 2 further Helbrutes to complete a Mayhem Pack

Fallen a little behind in maintaining my thread here!

 First up we have one of Warpsmith Varosh's creations, a potent Heldrake equipped with the Hades Autocannon. He was comissioned by Sergeant Fulcius to protect against airboune assaults by treacherous guard. Since the Quintos are not a particularly wealthy warband, they scavanged the corpse of a mighty Dracilli, from Georgus IX to serve as the base on which the armoured chassis was constructed.
 

 

 

Garr'ak the Destroyer, Daemon Prince of Khorne is neither a servant nor ally to the Quintos, but whose fate was bound to the Bloody Hand instead. Frequently he choses to manifest on the field of battle alongside the Bloody Hand, possessing whatever convienient body he can get his hands on. Garr'ak is a mighty warrior for Khorne and is on the verge of becoming a Bloodthirster.
 

Finally we have one of the allies of the Quintos, Lord Thanatos, master of the Bloody Hand. These were the former assault marines of the 5th Company of the Crimson Sabres, allies and compatriates of Sergeant Fulcius, who turned to Khorne when the Chapter fell. Thanatos embodies the very worst heritage of the Crimson Slaughter, the tendancy towards daemonic possession and leads the Bloody Hand in a rampage. They serve as a vanguard for Sergeant Fulcius, their daemonic allies and strange warmachines serving to crack the defenses before the Quintos move in to claim the spoils
