Loving this thread!

 

I'm an old school player too, still got the RT book. Sadly, i have no RT beakie marines but i have the fond memories

 

As for the terrain, don't forget washing up liquid bottles and straws to make a refinery ;) Old school terrain ftw

I'll do it, but might take a while. Have some more daemon-knights to do first (and some historicals, having fun building Vikings at the moment)...

Ok so who is doing what then?? Do we have any artists or writers doing anything for this?

Just remembered I have a squad of World Eaters that I have started based on this piece of artwork

and the old World Eater minis they did, think I'll finish those off (including the banner) whilst I gather parts for my Legion of the Damned and Mentors.

Whitescars have an armylist in the 'Chapter Approved - First book of the Astronomnomnomacon'. Just black and white sketches of shoulderpad and helmet markings mostly, can do a shady paint copy/paste set of piks if you want?

 

It's also up on line from a certian site where books get uploaded, but don't download it, because downloading is a crime etc

Yeah, WS list isn't much to get excited about, well before the brainfart of Mongol influence. The refractor/p.sword Souldrinkers(now a chapter in their own right) and the Cobras(jumppack specialists) were the standout units, the latter of which I'm twisting into something similar.

 

Certainly have some RT WE myself, so it'll be fun to see those, but what I really, really miss now are the burrowing things....Termites, Moles and Hellbores. Mole Mortars were just the tip of some VERY big things. :D More an AT/Epic thing, but something I'll look at as substitute drop-pods for my own WS. Gone are the days of quickly painted toliet roll tubes unfortunately.....

 

RT might be old, but it's still relevant today you whippersnappers !

Good lookin ad mech stuff man. And as for the historicals, I am of viking (Norwegian) decent and that earns my approval, and makes you one of my new favorite net friends.

I'm a Viking re-enactor as well, so am making all the character models to look like me & my friends...

Yep, it's Saga that's grabbed me too. Such a fun little game.

 

For my deodorant land speeder / "grav-attack vehicle" I've got a bunch of bits of sentinels still sitting around, I think I'll make a raised cockpit/cabin thing on them using some of the spare enclosed sentinel tops. I've been re-reading early Judge Dredd as well, the blockier versions of H-wagons and civilian flying cars will definitely be an influence. Things like:

Dredd was a huge influence on early 40k!

Hey cool miteyheroes heroes, I am a viking in the

 

So, on to some house keeping. Are we going to use this as an idea and discussion thread an start a wipe thread. Or do you want this to be a combo discussion/wip thread and have a dedicated How thread for our finish stuff. How do we wanna do this.

 

And maybe we could start in earnest after the Christmas season (and news years hang over).

But anyhow, I will spear head it. I just need to know what grimdork banner we want and we'll keep this as a discussion/wip thread and maybe when someone let's me know when they have something to post, we can start a proper hall of honor thread.
