Solar Auxilia Flamer Section and FW Jigsaw!

I'm just happy I was right about the feathers haha. I do kinda wish it had been an Ultramarine. The Calth book should be out the first half of next year right?

I do really like that Pollux sculpt so far though. The shield and fist look cool so far, his face is excellent, and I love the little cross by his neck.

And I'm going to have to get some Solar Auxilia now. I love those flamers. I had been resisting up til now.

Part of me was hoping it could have been Perturabo.

I could have begun the Iron Warrior side of my ZM/Execute Perturabo list versus IF Captain Amandus Tyr.

But as it is (may be) Captain Polux, then I must get ready to begin (again) with my Legion VII force.

Going by your avatar I'd have thought you'd have been happier haha.

I wonder if he'll come with a helmet seeing as he's like a void warfare master.

I doubt it's Dorn or Sigismund but we haven't got the whole picture yet so I've not yet 100% ruled them out. Only 99.9% so far. I had to reread Polux's entry in Extermination just to reassure myself it was him. ;)

I will be very happy if it is confirmed to be Polux ( although I may have to recolor my avatar's hair ). I am just using IF restraint.

A helmet would be nice... waitaminute, then I'll need four of him to paint?! 2 for IF, 2 for CF.

Haha nice, Pollux out of left field! I'll have to wait on the eBay auctions so I can steal his backpack, studded shoulder pad & power fist (depending on density of iconography) for my Alphas. That's a nice shoulder pad.

Looks like its shaping up to be an excellent piece as always especially the head, but is anyone else slightly disappointed? If you've ever seen the cover of shadows of treachery I always assumed the marine on the front with the giant fist was Pollux. Pollux didn't always have such high command and was essentially a second in command to a main fists fleet master(cant remember his name) so wouldn't he have been equipped more sparingly with less flash and more function? on the cover the marine simply wears mk2 with a possible mk3 chest and carries a standard square boarding shield, not a over the top eagle themed shield. I don't know, maybe its just me but i figured Pollux to be more of a man of function, more in tune with getting the job done without excess. This is great for those who feature Pollux solely as an HQ (im using him to complement Sigismund when not using a standard praetor) and it will be less difficult to model him with the size he truly is as forgeworld will handle that for us, but i was kind of hoping they would leave Pollux one of the undone characters so everyone could have a personal spin. I probably still will.

Hashin Yonnad was Pollux's superior and mentor. Polux was his chosen successor.

Alexis Polux had previously commanded large fleets on his own, although none so large as the Retribution Fleet trapped at Phall.  He was the direct Captain of the 405th Company.

He was sort of like General Omar Bradley rather than General George Patton type. A "soldier's general" in humility, but able to make the hard decisions when necessary.

"...quiet, unassuming, capable, with sound common sense. Absolute dependability. Give him a job and forget it." - Lieutenant Colonel George C. Marshall speaking of General Bradley.

precisely, thats why im disapointed he looks like a member of the emperors children with all that bling lol

He's still a Captain, and looks far less blinged out than an Emperor's Children. It should be expected that he would look a bit more than the men of the line you can see on the cover mentioned. Which also looked pretty blinged out, by the by.

The covers of Shadows of Treachery and The Crimson Fist are the official Imperium portraits of Captain Polix, whereas the miniature represents the "live image" recorded during the assault (presumably against the Contrador).

I may get an extra model to see if it can converted to resemble the book cover version.
